11 Artists To Listen To

Anyone that knows me, knows that I like music. Like a lot, I like like music. It doesn't take long to figure that out about me either, I'm constantly talking about a new album I've just heard, or a new artist I started listening to. And I'll tell anyone that will listen to me about it. I'm starting to run out of friends that will listen to me go on and on about artists that they don't listen to, a casual conversation will suffice for me to talk about it. Or in this case an article. Here's a list of 11 artists that I've been listening to non-stop lately.

1. St. Lucia

My friend recently suggested for me to listen to St. Lucia and since that moment it's pretty much all I listen to. My favorite song is "All Eyes on You" off of the self-titled ep.

2. The Maine

The Maine is easily my favorite band. As for my favorite song that's a little difficult because their newer music has a different sound compared to their older music. My favorite song from their older music is "Right Girl" off of the "Black and White Album." My favorite song from their newer music comes off of their most recent album "American Candy," I love the song "Am I Pretty."

3. Cage the Elephant

Cage the Elephant is easily a close second for my favorite band. As for my favorite song by them it has to be "Sweetie Little Jean" off of their "Tell Me I'm Pretty" album.

4. Milky Chance

I adore Milky Chance, I saw them in concert the last year and wow it was amazing. They are great performers. My favorite song is either "Sweet Sun" or "Stunner" off of their only album (as of now) "Sadnecessary.'"

5. James Bay

You've probably heard his song "Hold Back the River" or "Let It Go" on the radio lately. And while I love "Hold Back the River," my favorite song by James Bay is "When We Were on Fire" off of his album "Chaos and the Calm."

6. Bleachers

I didn't start listening to Bleachers until the past few months, and I am hooked already. Where have they been all my life? My favorite song is "Rollercoaster" or "I Wanna Get Better" off of "Strange Desire." It's hard to pick between the two.

7. The Griswolds

The Griswolds have a similar story to Bleachers, I didn't really start listening to them until the past few months. But once I did I pretty much haven't stopped since. My favorite song like pretty much every artist that I've listed so far is a little hard to choose. But I'd have to say it's "Down and Out" off of their album "Be Impressive."

8. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

I first started listening to Andrew McMahon when his song "Cecilia and the Satellite" first started getting played on the radio a lot, I decided to check his music out and I fell in love. My favorite song is "Canyon Moon" off of the self-title album.

9. Vance Joy

You probably know Vance Joy from his song "Riptide," or "Fire and the Flood." However, my personal favorite song is "Straight into Your Arms" off of his album "Dream Your Life Away."

10. Bastille

Okay I lied earlier when I said The Maine was my favorite band, what I should have said was The Maine and Bastille are both my number one. So far I've seen them in concert overtime they've come to Minnesota and they are amazing performers. It's not even a question what my favorite song is by them I love Blame. Blame sadly has not been officially released yet, the only way to hear it is at a concert or YouTubing a video of it being performed at a concert.

11. Magic Man

I got into Magic Man by hearing their song "Paris." And while I love the song "Paris," I'd have to say my favorite song is "Catherine" off of their "Before the Waves" album.

Now this list was only artists that I'm currently listening to like all the time. There are still so many other artists that I love. And there's still so many artists that I've yet to listen to. Happy listening!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
