It is easier said than done.

People will constantly compare life to different things to comfort themselves and others. It puts a smile on people's face when someone will take something like a toy or something edible and compare it to the great mystery of life. Life is an experience, and there isn't anyone who can compare their life to another person's without looking silly. No one's life is like anyone else's, yet the comparisons of life to a simple object or place still fit perfectly with different people. This could be because every object or word (songs, quotes, literary works, etc.) has a different and special meaning for every person. Life is different and hard for everyone. Anyone who says life isn't fair isn't looking at life as a whole, but is only looking at the lives that impact them the most. Life is fair, because life is unfair to every individual.

1. Life is like an ocean.

Sometimes it's rough and other times it's calm, but it will always be beautiful and lively. Think about when you go to the beach in the summer time, whether it is high tide or low tide, cold or warm, the only way to see if you can handle it is to jump in.

2. Life is like a bicycle.

In order to stay upright you have to keep moving forward. After your first time of riding a bicycle you won't forget how to do it again, but you will continue to learn new ways to ride and new places to go on your bicycle.

3. Life is like a rubix cube.

Just when you think you have something right, you realize that you are missing something else. My sister keeps trying to teach me how to solve a rubix cube, and, even after watching her do it and her telling me how to do it, I will never understand the algorithms behind it.

4. Life is like a box of chocolates.

To quote Forrest Gump, "You never know what you're gonna get." The only way to know is is you manipulate the outcome or look on the back of the box; if you do that though you are taking away a lesson and a memory from yourself.

5. Life is like a camera.

It is a time to focus on what is important, and capture all of the good ties with loved ones. Just like a photograph, each person will develop from the negatives and take another shot when things don't work out for them.

6. Life is like an elevator.

In order to go up, you may have to go down first. Going through life is like going up on an elevator ride, sometimes you have to stop to let some people off, and other times to let people in.

7. Life is like a piano.

There are light keys and dark keys, just as there are dark times and light times in a person's life. Either way, all of the memories make a person who they are, just as all the keys on a keyboard make music.

8. Life is like a roller coaster.

There going to be some ups and downs in life just as a roller coaster; you can either be afraid of it, or put your hands in the air and enjoy the ride. Not every situation is going to be fun, but it is important to not let the negative aspects in life keep you from moving on.

9. Life is like an arrow.

In order to go forward in life, sometimes you have to take a step back and look at your situation more carefully. When an arrow is shot it has a target, in life their will always be an end result, it is the shooter who will make it negative or positive though.

10. Life is a cup of tea.

It is meant to be enjoyed with friends and loved ones, but, in the end, life is what you make out of it. It can be spent with friends or enemies, it is up to the individual.

11. Life is like a book.

Life is like a book, with each era or lesson being a chapter and each individual the writer. We decide how our life will be just as an author decides how his book will be.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
