I watched Naruto during my childhood and surprisingly, some people had seen it as well during their childhood or adolescence. This anime had a lot of relatable life lessons that helped us in understanding life and reality. Watching this anime was like watching Naruto grow up from a child to an adult.
1. He Was an Outsider At First But Later, He Proved Himself Worthy As A Person
Some people in the world were regarded as outsiders just like Naruto when he was a kid. Naruto was an outsider at first because of the nine tail fox spirit that lived inside of him. It was not his fault that the spirit was evil at that time. His father put it inside of him to give Naruto the power to become a hero. One day, Naruto realized that crying would not do him any good so he went forward to become the best ninja that he could be. Outsiders should just be themselves and strive for their potential despite what people think of them.
2. He Started As A Failure But Became A Success In The End
Naruto was failing his classes at the Ninja Academy. He had trouble doing clone jutsu. No matter what, Naruto kept trying and believed that he would someday master the jutsu. That day came when he protected his sensei Iruka Umino from Iruka's corrupted friend Mizuki.
3. He Proved That People Could Change Their Destiny
People believe that fate determines our lives while others believe that their decision will determine their lives. At first, Naruto's friend Neji Hyuga believed that people cannot change their destiny. However, Naruto knocked some sense into him saying that people can change their destiny. Naruto changed his destiny by going from a failure to a success. Neji also changed his destiny by risking his life to protect Naruto and his cousin Hinata from the debris in Naruto: Shippūden. He would have lived longer if he did not take the risk. However, what would happen to Naruto and Hinata if he did not risk his life for them?
4. He Did Not Let Loneliness Keep Him Alone Forever
At first, Naruto's friend Gaara of the Sand let his loneliness take over his life. He hurt others as his way of life. However, Naruto knocked some sense into him by showing him that love will free him from loneliness. Gaara started to embrace love and friendship after his battle with Naruto. He became one of the most caring and helpful characters in the anime.
5. He Gave Others The Strength To Stand Up For Themselves
There are times when we have to stand up for ourselves. It can be scary and challenging. Naruto gave many characters like Tsunade and Hinata the power to stand up for themselves. Some of them had to face their fears. Without him, how would they be strong?
6. He Knew That Revenge Was Never The Best Solution
We all know that the craziest avenger and Byronic hero of all is Naruto's best friend Sasuke Uchiha. We learned from him that revenge was never the best solution despite the pain that has been inflicted. He was not the only person that wanted revenge. In the PSP game Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: Phantom Fortress, Princess Kasumi / Dusk vowed for revenge against the Hidden Leaf Village for taking her loved ones and happiness away. Actually, it was the sound ninjas that took them away and framed the leaf ninjas. With the help of her loved ones, Naruto persuaded the princess that revenge is not worth it and that the leaf ninjas were framed. He also reminded her that her loved ones only wanted her to be happy. Later on, she found out the truth and as an act of redemption, she joined forces with Naruto and his friends.
7. He Saw That Family Did Not Have To Be Blood-Related
Naruto lived his life without parents. Just because he had no parents did not mean that he did not have a family. His friends especially those from his team were his family. In the end, he was able to have a family of his own with Hinata, but we will always know that family does not have to be blood-related. He mentioned this to Sasuke's daughter Sarada who misunderstood that Sakura was not her birth mother.
8. He Never Gave Up On His Dreams
He kept going until he became the Hokage. If he could make his dreams come true, then we could as well!
9. He Tried To Be The Best Father He Could Be
Being a parent is not easy especially when your kids demand that you spend a lot of time with them. In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Naruto was the Hokage and being Hokage was busywork. He did not have much time with his family and that made Boruto dislike him. Boruto believed that his father cared about work more than him and his family. However, Naruto was able to find some solutions that can get him to his family especially during dire situations.
10. He Was A Forgiver
Sometimes, we could not forget the bad things that people have done. Also, what if their children are bad as well? In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Konohamaru Sarutobi was shocked that he was teaching Orochimaru's son Mitsuki. Orochimaru killed his grandfather, which was something Konohamaru would never forget. Naruto, however, told him that children should not be blamed for their parents' sins or mistakes. He also forgave Orochimaru since he redeemed himself by helping Naruto and his friends in saving the village. This showed that Orochimaru was no longer a foe and his child deserved to live happily. The past was behind Naruto and he hoped that the future would be better.
