Christmas break is fast approaching and I know that every college student wants to do one thing over break. That one thing is sleeping. But what happens after you've slept for the first few days of break? Here are 10 things to do over Christmas break.
1. Read a new book
Reading is an awesome past time. This coming break, try to read something outside of your favorite genre, or even reread one of your old favorite books.
2. Watch a new movie
Watch a movie in theaters or stay at home, but watch a movie you haven't seen.
3. Binge a television series
Christmas break is the perfect time to catch up on all the shows you haven't finished. Catch up on that last season of The Office, or begin a new series, break is the perfect, stress-free time to do it.
4. Clean your room
If you're anything like me, you use Christmas break to catch up on all of the cleaning you refused to do during the semester. Organize your closet, wash your sheets, or vacuum the carpet. It's never too early to start Spring cleaning.
5. Hang out with friends
What better way to spend break than with your friends? The school year can be a hard time to find hang out time with our best pals, but break gives everyone a more flexible schedule.
6. Pick up extra shifts at work
Making money during the school year is really hard. Between school, work, and extracurricular activities, finding time to make money can be stress you don't need. Spend this winter break picking up more hours at work and earn that money you need once school picks up again. Even better, save up for those special Christmas gifts you've been looking out for.
7. Explore a new place
've been living in the same city for years now and there are still places of it I haven't seen. Take time to explore your city, or even go adventure in neighboring cities. It's always fun to visit local business and get to know areas of town you may never be in.
8. Take up a hobby
Winter break is an awesome time to find new hobbies. Learn to paint, write poetry, or take up knitting. There is an endless world of possibilities when finding something to spend your time on.
9. Volunteer
Christmas time can be the best time to offer your help to others. Try volunteering for events around your town or at local hospitals and businesses. It doesn't even have to be anything like that, it can be as simple as offering to shovel the snow for your elderly neighbors. It's the thought that counts.
10. Shop
Christmas time is my favorite time to shop because of all the deals. Get your wallets ready and go shopping for yourself and those you love.
No matter what you end up doing with your holiday break, make sure it's something that you love.
