With only a few weeks left before it's time to head back to school, now is the time to soak up all of the things that make summer so great before it's over.

1. Long drives with the windows down

There's hardly anything better than driving around for hours with your friends and blasting your Spotify summer playlists enjoying the sun in your eyes and wind in your hair.

2. Losing track of what day of the week it is

Is it Tuesday? Saturday? Who cares? Being able to go out with friends on week nights without worrying about homework and tests and studying and all of the other stressful things that come up during the school year is ten times more fun.

3. More time for Netflix binging

There's no time like summer to watch all eight seasons of "That '70s Show" or an insane amount of "Parks and Rec" just because you can.

4. FOOD

Snow cones, ice cream, barbecues, and farmers market fruits and vegetables; everything tastes better when the sun is shining and responsibilities are few and far between (or at least for the 5 minutes you pretend they are while at Tro-Sno).

5. Summer Tan

Whether your tan is from rays or sprays, there is nothing better than having that "just got back from the beach" type glow.

6. Going Outside

Summer brings opportunities for so many awesome outdoor activities. Whether it's going to the pool, paddle-boarding, hiking new trails, or stargazing at night, there is always something fun to do outside.

7. Summer Clothes

When it's so hot out that it's socially acceptable to wear your swimsuit all day even after the pool? Yeah, that rocks. Summer active wear colors? The absolute best. Cotton and linen? Instantly make you feel like you're on a beach somewhere.

8. Summer Jobs

Getting paid to sit and get a tan at the pool? Yes, please! Hate your summer job? Just think- if it's just for summer it only lasts a couple weeks! Putting it in perspective can help make the last few weeks relatively painless and maybe even fun.

9. Drive-In Movies

There's nothing like going to the drive-in on summer nights with your friends. It's usually cheaper than going to a real movie theater and being able to look up at the stars while watching your favorites is an awesome experience.

10. NO HOMEWORK! NO EXAMS!! NO SCHOOL!!!

Okay so maybe this one isn't quite underrated, but this is undoubtedly one of the most amazing parts of summer so it had to be mentioned. There's nothing like waking up in the morning and not having to worry about making it to class on time or coming home from work or the gym and trying to get your homework and studying done ASAP. Even though summer can still be busy, take advantage of the last couple weeks free from the stress that your fall schedule brings to relax and get ready to tackle the semester ahead!

Summer will be over faster than you know it! Enjoy the last few days and try something new!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
