It’s the time of year when the ghouls and vampires come out, when all ages can dress up and not be judged, and when it is socially acceptable to binge on chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. That’s right, it’s almost Halloween.
While scary movies and haunted houses are the popular activities at this time, here is also a list of some classic Halloween TV episodes that are sure to keep you entertained.
1. That 70s Show: “Halloween” (Season 2, Episode 5)
One of the most classic halloween episodes in my opinion, it is bound to make you laugh as the hooligans of Point Place, Wisconsin decide to go visit their old elementary school on Halloween. When they get to the burned down school, they find old school records and secrets about the members of the gang are revealed while they camp out in the building.
2. The Simpsons: “Treehouse of Horror”
Each year, The Simpsons airs special Halloween segments which are unrealistic, fun and totally absurd. From Ned Flanders turning into a cow-centaur to Homer signing away his soul to the Devil for a donut, watching these supposedly scary episodes each October is a tradition that should not be missed.
3. Sabrina the Teenage Witch: “A River of Candy Corn Runs Through It” (Season 2, Episode 7)
While Sabrina is already a show filled with witches and strange creatures from the Other Realm (which you have to go to through the linen closet, obviously), this episode is especially fun with a Halloween party, oblivious mortals and talking furniture. And of course, after seeing all the
4. Parks and Recreation: “Greg Pikitis” (Season 2, Episode 7)
Determined to catch the Greg Pikitis, a teenager who pranks the department on a regular basis, Leslie hires Andy to help her catch him in the act on Halloween night - and of course, with these two as a team, things go awry in the most hilarious way possible.
5. How I Met Your Mother: “Slutty Pumpkin” (Season 1, Episode 6)
Every HIMYM fan knows that this is one of the classic episodes that is a must-watch. When Ted remembers a girl he met years earlier at a Halloween party, a girl who was dressed as, well, a slutty pumpkin, he hopes to see her again and spends the whole night at a party waiting for her.
6. Friends: “The One with the Halloween Party” (Season 8, Episode 6)
When Monica decides to throw a Halloween party, of course nothing goes right: Chandler ends up in a bunny costume, pregnant and hormonal Rachel gives away all her money to trick or treaters and Ross is just his awkward self as they all try to make it through the night in one piece.
7. Brooklyn Nine Nine: “Halloween” (Season 1, Episode 6)
Andy Samberg is hilarious as usual in Brooklyn Nine Nine when Jake makes a bet with Holt that he can steal his medal of valor before the end of the night on Halloween. He then enlists the help of the gang, while Amy and Charles are stuck together going undercover.
8. That 70s Show: “Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die” (Season 3, Episode 4)
This show is just so good with holiday episodes that it deserves to be on this list twice. This episode is a mix of Alfred Hitchcock parodies, from Bob being a potential murderer to Kitty getting into trouble with birds.
9. Family Guy: “Halloween on Spooner Street” (Season 9, Episode 4)
Peter tries to play Halloween pranks on Quagmire and Stewie and Brian try to get back at the kids who stole their candy while trick or treating in this goofy episode of the popular comedy.
10. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: “The Ghost of Suite 613” (Season 1, Episode 19)
Every person who was ever a fan of Disney Channel knows that this was one of the best episodes of this show. Let’s be real, all of us were scared out of our minds when Zack, Cody, Maddie, London and Esteban decide to spend the night in Suite 613 to see whether or not there is really a ghost in there. So to end off this list, I highly recommend throwing it back a little and going back to our childhoods with this episodes - and who knows, there’s a good chance this episode will still scare you just as much as it did ten years ago.
