My dad is one of five, and my mom is one of six. I am so used to having a huge family that I don't even realize how crazy it is until people talk about their normal sized families. Can you imagine just having two or three cousins? Or your entire extended family fitting around one table? But there are many things that you know to be true when you have a huge family...
1. Introducing anyone to your family is overwhelming.
You're lucky if you find someone who can handle it.
2. Your parents are constantly on the phone with your aunts/uncles.

And it's always about family drama.
3. Every holiday consists of the same food.

Any family get together without "Aunt _______'s Famous _________" is incomplete. And you crave it ALL YEAR.
4. And dinner is super long.

Mostly because there is always too much food, and too many people, for it to last under an hour.
5. Because it's impossible to get everyone around one table, there is always a 'kids table'.
It doesn't matter if you're 5 or 35. If you're a cousin, you're at the kid's table. (But we all secretly love it.)
6. Christmas at grandma's is louder than a rock concert.
You can't have a conversation at normal volume because everyone is talking over each other.
7. You have to start saying goodbye to everyone at least 30 minutes before you actually leave.
A goodbye consists of a hug, kiss on the cheek, and "See you (insert next family gathering here)!"
8. Restaurants don't know how to handle all of you together.
You can't just reserve a table somewhere, you have to reserve the entire place.
9. Everyone goes crazy at family weddings.
And when 'We Are Family' comes on, you go insane.
10. Taking a complete group shot takes forever and is basically impossible.
Either people are missing from the picture, there isn't a lens wide enough to capture everyone, or you have to take one cousins shot and one aunts/uncles shot. Too many people.
11. When you find out a family member got engaged or is pregnant.
Any new edition to the family is exciting.
12. You can never escape the family member with a camera.
Half of your tagged Facebook photos are from family gatherings.
13. You can find out everything going on in the family with one visit with grandma.

She's basically the queen of the family, so of course, she knows all the deetz.
14. Your mind is blown when someone tells you about their way smaller family.
You're constantly forgetting that it isn't normal to have a family this big.
15. You are always looking forward to the next time you can all get together.
There is nothing better than having everyone together. Even when it's crazy and ridiculous, you love every second of it. It's like living in a reality show.
Love ya, fam! <3
