As I'm writing this, I am currently packing for my three-week vacation. As you're reading this, I'll be in Europe. How exciting, right? Summer is all about relaxing, traveling and eating (at least for me), and I get to do that in Europe! I'm blessed to be able to spend a part of my summer traveling and I thought, I might as well share some travel tips that I've taken use of while getting ready for my vacation.
1. Do not forget your passport.
You'd be surprised how many people forget this. Sometimes you feel because it's so important, there's no way you'd forget it! But definitely double check before you drive to the airport.
2. Bring a camera...
...or two. Our phones are great for pictures, but bring another, more professional camera for those high-quality pictures your Instagram feed is looking for.
3. Backup and wipe your phone.
Every time I go on vacation, I back my phone up and wipe it for that extra space. I take pictures of everything and anything while traveling so I like to have room on my phone and what's more annoying than that alert that says you have no more room?
4. Bring headphones.
You're going to want to block out the noise of crying babies or just pass the time. My flight is going to be 10 hours long; I'm definitely going to be in need of some good music.
5. Snacks on the plane.
Not snakes, snacks. You're going to get hungry, this is just obvious. Also, planes are now charging you for breathing so bring snacks.
6. Pack sneakers.
This is the time that athleisure is trending and wearing sneakers with cute outfits is a total yes. If you're walking a lot, you're going to want to be wearing comfortable shoes. Trust me, I'm an expert of wearing the wrong shoes.
7. Pack a reusable water bottle.
These are so amazing for spending the day sightseeing and not having the time to constantly stop for water. You can even get the canteens with filters already in them!
8. Change your money beforehand.
If you want the best exchange rate, do some research before you leave. Most of the time, airports have the worst exchange rates.
9. Carry around a backpack.
Purses are great, but when you're walking around you don't want to be holding anything. Use a backpack to put all your stuff in. To avoid pickpocketers, safety pin your zippers shut.
10. Have fun.
This is your vacation! Have fun, stay relaxed and don't get stressed out.
Where are you going this summer?
