Advice to Incoming Freshman
Tips for all of you incoming freshman this year, I will give you a few tips for this upcoming school year. This school year will be the most important year of your college career.
- Go to your classes even if you are too tired.
- Keep your grades up, it is hard to raise your gpa after your freshman year.
- Take nap! They will literally save your life, especially if you have a lot of homework to do.
- Talk to your professors and get to know them, they will be the ones who determine your grade, and they are the ones who can help you the most.
- Make friends! Even if you don’t know them, try talking to them and maybe you will make a new friendship.
- Get out of your comfort zone and try new things.
- Call your parents! They are worried about you and do love you, trust me.
- Leave your door open when you are in your dorm! This is a great way to meet new people and possibly join conversations.
- Ask for help when you feel overwhelmed with your assignments, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
- Study, study, study, and this will save you in the end when you have midterms and finals. But, still have fun!!
I hope you enjoy your freshman year in college, and I hope you make a lot of new friends. You will have a lot of up and downs during the school year which will make you question everything and don’t be afraid of change. And last but not least, call your parents when you are having troubles because they literally solve all of your life problems. Have fun and I wish you all the best!
