If you've never watched One Tree Hill, you have to get on it! The show is about a group of friends and their lives through high school and then adulthood in the town of Tree Hill. I love this show not for the hot guys (I mean, that is a plus), but because of the cheesy life messages that have been completely right. Like every other show on the CW, there are ridiculous episodes or situations that make you roll your eyes so keep that in mind if you start to watch--nothing's perfect right? One Tree Hill connects with people in high school and college because that is where they are too and sometimes you really just want someone to get it like the show does.

1. When Nathan Scott says "It's the oldest story in the world. One day, you're seventeen and planning for someday. And then, quietly, and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life."

Okay, this is what scares a lot of people--myself included--because the idea that life will just pass us by is scary, but we have all had those moments when we realize how much we have grown and changed without really noticing at all.

2. "Life kicks you around sometimes. It scares you and it beats you up. But there's one day when you realize you're not just a survivor. You're a fighter. You're tougher than anything life throws your way. And you are."

This quote is especially true after you go through something emotional because you can see that you will make it through to the other side, like a bad ass.

3. "People are going to label you, It's how you overcome those labels that's what counts."

As a woman, it is so hard for this quote not to ring true. We are always labeled, and One Tree Hill teaches us to beat those labels.

4. "We're all crazy, some of us just hide it better than others."

I look to this quote when I feel like I'm going insane or I've done something insane and I need to be reminded that I'm not alone in my insanity.

5. "So, I've been thinking about this whole being happy thing, and I feel like people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination...We're always thinking that someday we'll be happy; we'll get that car or that job or that person that'll fix everything. But happiness is a mood, and it's a condition, not a destination. It's like being tired or hungry, it's not permanent. It comes and goes, and that's okay. And I feel like if people thought of it that way, they'd find happiness more often."

Happiness seems to be a life goal and when you think about it that way, you spend your life upset when your happiness doesn't last forever.

6. "Realize now that when your heart breaks, you got to fight like hell to make sure your still alive. Because you are. And that pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear? That's there to remind you, that somewhere out there is something better and that something is worth fighting for."

There one applies to more than just a bad break-up, it is any let down or "failure" you face. This is a great reminder that life sucks sometimes, but it gets better.

7. "There's no shame in being afraid. Hell, we're all afraid. What you've got to do is figure out what you're afraid of. Because when you put a face on it it, you can beat it. Or better yet, you can use it."

This is a Coach Whitey quote (he's like the show's Mr. Feeney) about growing up and dealing with the fear associated with that and damn is growing up scary.

8. "Stand up for what you believe in. The truth matters, so tell it, no matter what."

Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) is the badass that stands up for herself and others so instead of "living like Larry" (Spongebob reference) live like Brooke.

9. "Love means giving chances when there are no more chances left to give."

This is super cheesy, but it serves us well. People we care about screw up--a lot--as do we so we have to fight through that.

10. "You're too young to believe it's not going to be okay."

Maybe right now life sucks, but if you're reading this, you are probably in college and you need to know that everything is going to be okay.

One Tree Hill has taught me more than a TV show probably should and I love it for that. Even if you never watch the show, try and listen to what it has taught me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
