10 Times 'Gossip Girl' Got It Right

I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic lately for the weekly presence of "Gossip Girl" and the wise words of Blair Waldorf. It's been years since the show's finale and I’m still thinking about all of the great advice and lessons given to us by the "Gossip Girl" cast. Not only did this show teach us how to dress, it also taught us important lessons on life, friendship, and relationships. Who knew it was possible for a TV show to have such an impact? So let’s take a look back and take a second to remember the pieces of advice we have received by devotedly watching each episode.

1. Sometimes a Shopping Spree Is in Order | "Whoever said that money doesn't buy happiness, didn't know where to shop." No, shopping won't solve all our problems, but having new items in our closets will definitely make us feel better.

2. Celebrate Your Life | "Gossip Girl" showed us that there are a million reasons to celebrate. When wasn't the cast of "Gossip Girl" celebrating? Whether it's a birthday party, a social event, or "just because," life should always be celebrated.

3. Find Your Best Friends | Who is Blair without Serena? This show taught us the importance of having a best friend to lean on through life's up and downs.

4. Have Self-Respect | As Blair Waldorf says, "I'm not a stop along the way. I'm a destination." Blair reminds us that we don't need anybody in our life who doesn't want to be there.

5. Find Your Non-Judging Breakfast Club | Life is hard and some moments will be unbearable without a support group. "Gossip Girl" reminds us to find the people who will stick by us no matter what.

6. Love Is Complicated | Blair and Chuck were together, broke up, got back together, broke up... and then eventually got married. Love is not easy, and "Gossip Girl" reminds us that in the end, if two people are meant to be together, they will end up together.

7. It's Never Too Late to Change | Remember when Serena left for boarding school for a whole semester? She came back changed with a new beginning. "Gossip Girl" reminds us that it's never too late for a fresh start.

8. Be Confident in Yourself | "Gossip Girl" taught us that the most important thing a girl can be is confident.

9. Don't Give Up | Each character in "Gossip Girl" came across obstacles, yet each character always came back stronger than ever.

10. New York Is Awesome | Nothing makes me love New York more than watching the cast of "Gossip Girl" walk down the dazzling streets of Manhattan, or stroll through Central Park. This show definitely taught us that we all need to spend some time in New York.

The world seems to be a little less exciting without the anticipation of the next episode of "Gossip Girl." Yet luckily, "Gossip Girl" has left us with six seasons of drama, advice, and life lessons to look back on.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
