It seems that every family goes on a road trip at least once. Now who does not love a good road trip? The car rides can be long and cramped I know. I mean currently I am wedged between the window and three suitcases because everyone in my family over packs. Oh going on vacation for ten days, why don't you just pack for 20 instead? There are so many thoughts that go through your head when you are doing 70mph down southbound 75.
1.) Probably the most frequently asked question is are we there yet? Yes for children and adults alike everyone wonders when they will reach their destination. Even if you just left 20 minutes ago.
2.) My favorite one is can we stop I have to pee? It is my favorite because my dad will only stop unless we need to fill up our tank. Needless to say that question does not get asked much in my family.
3.) Chances are if your iPad died you might be counting the different states license plates and get really excited when you see one from Alaska.
4.) Why did I chose to wear leggings? Seriously especially when you reach florida and your sweating like a stripper in church.
5.) In response to number 4 why in the world did I wear a sweatshirt? Even more so why in the world did I not wear a t - shirt under my sweatshirt. Seriously, still sweating like crazy.
6.) Why in the world did I volunteer to sit in the back? Once again sweating like crazy surrounded by all of our luggage.
7.) Forever hoping you did not forget something at home. I have been there before forgetting your most comfy pair of shoes and realizing that you are going to end up getting blisters and cringe at the thought of it.
8.) You start to do the math in your head of how much it would have cost to fly yourself and your family down. Then you add in the extra cost of your luggage weighing over 50 pounds. At last you realize it is way cheaper to drive than fly....sadly.
9. ) You begin to wonder how you have not been left at a rest stop with your constant singing to whatever song is on the radio and I mean everything that comes on the radio. You start to think you should have gotten your family ear plugs for Christmas.
10.) You really wish you would have gone pee at the last pit stop but then you refer to number two on this list and realize you are screwed and must wait until the car runs out of gas. Did I mention that will be in 206 miles?
All in all spending time with your family is a gift and you love it. However it sucks being cramped in a car and you wish you made more money so you could have afforded to fly down with your overweight luggage.
