10 Thoughts You Have At The End Of The Semester

Senioritis has nothing on the last half of the spring semester in college.

10 Thoughts You Have At The End Of The Semester
Hey Sigmund

With a month left in the semester, it's getting harder and harder to drag yourself out of bed in the morning when your alarm goes off and make it to class. You start rationalizing the really weird things you do, like ordering food for the sixth time in the row because you're too lazy to either cook or go pick it up yourself. It's a stark difference between how you were feeling at the end of August, with your life all planned out and a lot more money in your bank account. You start reminiscing about this time when you were in high school, and the only things you had to worry about were prom, track, state music contest, and graduation. Below are some gifs all college students can relate to at this point in the school year.

1. *cries dramatically in the shower*

Why are you crying? You don't really know, but it's happening. Just go with it.

2. *re-evaluates major for 67th time that day*

Do I really have to be a doctor/teacher/nurse/police officer/etc? I'll just be a boogan... It's fine.

3. Stress. Eating. 24/7.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy ice cream -- and that's pretty close, right?

4. *runs away from life problems*

NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.

5. "Why am I like this?"

There's nothing quite like staring into your own dead eyes in the mirror at 3 a.m. in the library bathroom.

6. "Yeah, I have three exams, a paper, and a lab report due this week... I'm still going out, though."

Don't act like this hasn't been you within the last 2 weeks. We know. We all know.

7. *has to study* *naps*

8. When you drink ten cups of coffee to stay up all night before an exam...

*screams*

9. Watching Netflix when you realize something is due at 11:59 and it's 11:35

A single tear rolls down your cheek when Blackboard kicks you off of the assignment at 11:56 and doesn't come back online until 12:01.

10. When you just give up and watch Grey's Anatomy from the beginning for the third time.

Oh well!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
