10 Thoughts Of All College Seniors

Three years ago, we stepped onto our college campuses scared freshman. We worried about making friends and doing well in our classes. We worried about getting fat from the cafeteria food and how we would entertain ourselves on the weekends. Three years later, here we are... college SENIORS. Can you believe it? I know I have a hard time coming to terms with it, mostly because I never want to leave. But, I know I am not the only one. Here are 10 thoughts all college seniors have when we come back to school for the last time:

1. "I don't want to be a senior!"

Wahoooo! We've made it this far, but all the good time and good memories are making us want to be nostalgic for the rest of the year. I'm sure we will be saying, "I would give anything to be a freshman right now" throughout the week, and twice on the weekends.

2. "We have to make the most of this year."

Our goal for this year should be to dress nice, do well in our classes, and not eat pizza every night. Also, take every advantage of having a good time with friends. It's going to be difficult, but I believe in the class of 2017.

3. "Yes, I am ready for my classes. No, I haven't bought a single book, or notebook, or pencil for that matter."

If by prepared you mean I know what classes I am taking this semester, then yes. Do I have school supplies? I have a broken pencil, a highlighter thats almost out of ink and a notebook from last year so I'm good to go!

4. "Oh my gosh, there are freshman EVERYWHERE! And why do they look so young..."

Somehow, the freshman look so young but are crazier than we are now. They are still very naïve about some things so we have the responsibility to pass on our great senior knowledge, like nap whenever and where ever you can and DO NOT wear your lanyard around your neck (seriously...).

5. ""Do I want to go out tonight? Is that even a question?"

Take advantage of every opportunity to hang out with friends and have a good time. Homework and responsibility can wait until Sunday afternoon. Besides, we aren't going to be able to go crazy with our best friends very often after college because of the "real world."

6. "I remember when I used to (insert anything embarrassing that you see underclassmen doing now)."

Like buying every required and recommended textbook for a literature class and hitting on upperclassmen boys...t was extremely cringe worthy and I never want to talk about it again.

7. "No, I still don't know what I want to do with my life so please stop asking me."

Basically every conversation with every real adult. Yes, I am 21 years old. Yes, I am a senior in college. No, I don't know what I want to do with my life yet. If all else fails, I hear strippers make good money :).

8. "Second week of school and I'm already starting to senior slide. Is this bad?"

Don't fool yourself, you cannot actually get your senior thesis outline done while watching Sunday night football. It will be nine o'clock before you actually start homework and the whole better-sleep-and-homework-schedule pep-talk is out the window.

9. "I'm taking a victory lap so I never have to leave."

I mean, how bad could a fifth year actually be? For you--it'd be amazing! For you bank account and student loans--well, maybe you'll find out what you want to do in that fifth year to help pay those off!

10. "I need a nap."

If we had any advice for underclassman it would be "nap when you have the opportunity, not when you are tired." It will definitely help you get through those tough days.

Here's to the class of 2017! May we all graduate in May and make the most of our last year of college!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
