By this time, most college students have at least one week of classes under their belt. No matter how many first classes you have attended, or what school you are at, here are 10 common thoughts that enter nearly every college student's mind in the first week.
1. I'm dropping out.
2. Is it Christmas yet?
3. Is college really for me?
4. Is this worth the money?
5. What's sleep?
6. Day one and I'm already broke. Thanks, textbooks.
7. Why do I have to take this class?
8. C's get degrees.
9. Do I really have to be up this early?
10. I really need more than 24 hours in a day.
For those who share in these thoughts, that is okay. It is normal to have the negativity and apprehension in the first week of classes. But trust me, things will get easier as you adjust to your schedule and learn to budget your time. The first few weeks might be rough, but as long as you find a way to get organized and stay on track, and keep up your seven syllabi, you will get through this semester alive! It is never as bad as it first seems. Just take things one day at a time, but always plan ahead. Stay positive and work hard! It will pay off in the end.
