The struggle is REAL.

10 Thoughts You Have Before Getting Out Of Bed

Getting out of bed in the morning is a day-to-day struggle, but something we all have to do in order to survive at school. Here are the 10 thoughts that probably pass through your mind as you're trying to wake up in the morning.

1. "NO!!!"

You're in denial. You can't believe it's already time to wake up. It feels like you've been asleep for 5 minutes. Why, cruel world, why?!

2. "5 more minutes..."

You press snooze. You're still fine on time. Then you press it again. And again. And again.

3. "Crap, I'm late!!"

Twenty minutes into your "snooze", you realize that time is not forgiving, and you're running late. You need to get out of bed or you'll be hella embarrassed when you stroll into your lecture hall late, after your professor has already started talking. Hopefully he/she won't call you out in front of everyone!

4. "Is it even worth going to class today?"

You're ahead of the readings, and all you do during class is switch tabs between Facebook, Twitter, and other repetitive websites. It wouldn't kill you to skip one class.

5. "What if there's a pop quiz though?"

Although these small quizzes don't help your grade much, you know that failing this quiz can hurt you. You can end up getting this grade dropped, but what if later you get a 2/3? You'll probably have to keep that grade, which is a bummer. Is sleeping in today worth it?

6. "I guess I'll go. But I really need to shower."

Maybe you fell asleep last night doing homework. Maybe you were out and some drinks spilled on you. Either way, you feel gross and need to shower before you do anything.

7. "Will I have time for coffee?"

No matter how late you're running, there is always time for coffee. Coffee saves lives before morning classes, or any classes for that matter, so it is a necessity. In the wise words of my computer sticker, "but first, coffee."

8. "What should I wear to class?"

Living in State College, we all know that every day the weather goes from 50 degrees to 70 within a few hours. How do you prepare for that? And will your class be hot or cold today? The answer: layers. If you need to carry your parka around later, do it.

9. "I just need to check my phone."

Obviously checking your phone before getting out of bed is a necessity. We all need to see the lack of texts and snapchats we received before our fateful 9 ams. Who knows, maybe there's an off chance that someone actually tried to contact you.

10. "Ugh I'm getting up."

Getting out of bed for class is a true struggle, but you'll be happy later that you went to class, and it'll all be worth it.

My advice to all college students, incoming freshmen and upperclassmen, is go to class. Even if you don't have time to put yourself together that day, just go to class. It's always worth it in the long run. You never know what helpful tips your professor will give that day, so why risk missing that? The more you go to class, the better your grades will be; it's not that difficult. Your grades at the end of the semester will be the most rewarding part.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
