10 Things You Should Know About Your Type 6 Friends

Personality types are a great way to develop a better understand of yourself, and can be an even better way to better understand and connect with your friends. Here's a few things your type six friends want you to know:

1. We like to plan for the worst.

This may seem pessimistic, but please don't stop us from making five different back up plans. We like to be prepared for anything that could happen including the good and the bad. Encouraging us to just 'wing it' and saying everything will be fine will do nothing but make us more stressed.

2. We're almost always worried about something.

Type sixes are often overthinkers so there is never a dull moment inside of our brain. There is always something going on or some decision to be made, big or small, meaning we are almost always analyzing something at any given moment.

3. We love reassurance.

Although it seems repetitive and annoying to some, reassurance is one of the best things a type six can receive.

4. Consistency is key.

Having a set schedule and making plans in advance makes us feel secure and eases a lot of our anxiety.

5. We would prefer if someone else made decisions for us.

We will second guess every decision no matter how small so it helps if someone else makes the final call. At least narrow down our options so we don't have to make the decision completely on our own!

6. We tend to have an odd sense of humor.

You may not understand all of our jokes, but we think we're really funny.

7. We're usually pretty responsible.

Often described as the 'mom friend', we like to come prepared (usually overprepared if we're being honest).

8. We're the most loyal of all the enneagram types.

You can always rely on us no matter what, and we're always looking out for you even if you don't realize it.

9. We love to have clear expectations.

The more detailed, the better! Detailed instructions and explanations allow us to prepare and double check that we have everything we need.

10. We usually give pretty good advice.

Type sixes are generally good listeners and pay attention to detail. They also overthink about so much that they have probably already thought about what you're going through and know exactly what to say depending on your situation.

Type sixes are unique, but they can be some of the absolute best friends to have! Show them how much you appreciate them and try to ease their anxiousness when you can, they'll greatly appreciate it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
