Is the water working yet?

10 Things All Truett Students Have Said At Least Once

Here are ten things that all Truett McConnell students can relate to or agree they have said....

1) "Is the water working yet?"

If you live in Otwell or Merrit; the answer is usually no...

2) "Will you walk with me to Nix? I have to go to the Outpost."

You typically have to beg but the true friends will make the hike with you. (hopefully)

3) "Oh my goodness!! Look at Rachel!!!"

AKA the sweetest and cutest service dog EVER.

4) Will you drive me to the Caf?"

Again, nobody wants to take that hike... Ever.

5) "Where are all the good places to hike around here?"

You are in the North Georgia mountains! Go for a hike every once in a while! (Be sure to ask juniors or seniors where to go though. They typically know all the cool Apps and random spots around Cleveland! Not to mention some awesome short cuts!)

6) "You aren't a Truett student unless you've hiked Mt. Yonah."

It's true. The mountain is ten minutes away.... It's basically a requirement.

7) "I like your flannel."

Also a requirement. Flannels are a must here at TMU. (and Chacos)

8) "Let's take advantage of the free gym!!"

I'm not one to turn down a free gym... as long as I get pizza afterward..

9) "What Bible study are you going to this week?"

There's like 50....

10) "How was the food at the caf?"

Ask for gift cards to other restaurants... do yourself a favor....

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
