10 Things to Think About When Leaving College For Spring Break

One of the things college kids look forward to most: Spring Break.

It's a nice get-away from college because it falls just after mid-term week and gives you a chance to recuperate and relax after all the strenuous studying and all-nighters.

With all the excitement the break can bring about, you may forget to pack or do a couple things before leaving college.

Here's a list of things to remember when getting ready to leave for Spring Break:

1. Bring home your seasonal clothes that are now out of season, and bring back clothes that are. Now that it's spring, you won't really need all those boots and heavy coats and sweaters, so take them home and exchange them for more "springy" clothes.

2. Pack clothes by making outfits out of them. You're a lot less likely to forget an article of clothing if you have it set up in a outfit, rather than just putting a bunch of random shirts and pants in a bag.

3. If you don't take your laundry home for break, or if you're going on vacation, have it done so that it's not piled up when you return from break. It's one less thing to worry about when transitioning back into your work ethic.

4. Make your bed, and have your room cleaned. Like the laundry, it will save you a lot of stress and time to come back to a clean room, because it will be much more functional when you bring back your things.

5. Unplug your things for the break. No one wants to have a fire occur when they're hours away, with all of their belongings in it. Don't take the risk.

6. Remember all of your technology and their chargers. Nothing worse than getting all the way to where you're going and realizing that you left your charger sitting on your desk. Chargers, especially for Apple products, do not run cheap price-wise, so don't make an extra cost for yourself that could be avoided.

7. Make sure you know what you're going to be returning to in classes and bring home the necessary items to make that transition smooth. If you have a test two days after you return, bring home your books/materials so that you can study for it.

8. For girls, don't forget your makeup and beauty products. We all know how expensive makeup can run, and we are all so accustomed to a specific kind or brand so don't forget that at school!

9. Take out and dispose of any food/drinks that will expire before you return. How awful would it be to have a rotten carton of milk in your room, that causes the whole area to smell. Throw it out.

10. Bring home anything from your room that just takes up space, because you don't use it. Whether it's 4 extra notebooks, or a desk lamp that just didn't fit well, bring it home so you don't have as much clutter, and so that when you come home for the summer, it's one less thing to pack and fit into your car.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
