Today, we live in a generation whose favorite phrase is "I'm Sorry." We as a society have started apologizing for almost every action that we do, either good or bad. Now, I am not writing this article to say that saying "I'm sorry" in the correct time and place is wrong, but apologizing for people's opinions of you is not OK. It is time to stop apologizing for who you are or how different you are from society.
Here are 10 things to never apologize for:
1. Crying
It is a natural thing to cry. Do not be sorry for having, and letting yourself feel, emotion. Let your self grieve over the sorrows in life and laugh in the times of joy. It is normal to feel things, despite society's opinion.
2. Laughing uncontrollably
After all, a life full of laughter is a life well spent. Don't you want to spend your life well?
3. Loving unconditionally
To love with all of your heart is not something to ever apologize for. Loving unconditionally allows you to reach depths of yourself you never knew existed, and see the best in others despite the flaws societies see.
4. Having flaws
No one is perfect. Your imperfections do not make you weird or ugly, they simply make you, you. Own your quirks and work those babies.
5. Being a "try hard"
Trying your best at every activity you do is not bad, it actually is a quality that should be praised.
6. Failing
Failure is inevitable, but you should still keep trying.
7. Giving second chances
Because everyone messes up, do not be sorry for being tenderhearted and giving them a second chance. After all, God gives us second chances everyday and aren't we called to be like Him?
8. Moving on
Sometimes things come and go into our lives that we have no control of, but sometimes we do have control. When something negative comes into your life it is OK to choose to leave it in the past. Do what is best for you. Just because you move on does not mean that you forget forever.
9. Having high standards
Having high standards set for yourself is never a bad thing. It allows you to stop settling for anything less than you deserve. Whether it be a prospective boyfriend/ girlfriend, or simply the way someone talks to you, never be disrespected or taken advantage of.
10. Being yourself
Lastly and most importantly, never ever be sorry for being who you truly are. Be quirky, laugh a lot, cry at cute kittens, smile at little old people, and never change who you are for who others think you should be.
Stop apologizing for being you.
