As Summer draws to an end there are a few habits we must drop in order to get back into our back-to-school routine. Unfortunately none of these habits are bad ones or ones we would necessarily like to drop. As sad as it is for me to type these truths, I figure we all may need to read them just in case we forgot what its like to be in the school routine. So, I would say enjoy but I am not too sure its possible to enjoy reading these!

1. Go to sleep before 2 AM.

2. Wake up before 12 pm. (If unsure of how to do this refer to number 1)

3. Prepare your brain to start thinking again.

4. Trade your bronzer and sunscreen for real clothes and book bags.

5. Say goodbye to afternoon naps.

6. Kiss your social life goodbye even though you just said hello to it back in May.

7. Remind yourself it is OK to cry once you see the course work on the syllabus.

8. Leave behind the thoughts of week long vacations and instead get ready for all nighters in the library.

9. Burn that ocean or pool front picture image into your brain so as your awful statistics teacher stands up and lectures in what seems like Chinese you can block it out and go back to paradise until you're called on to answer a question.

10. Buy school supplies instead of party supplies.

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
