Every college student looks forward to Thanksgiving break and getting that whole week to be worry free and just stuff our face with food and take advantage of mom doing our laundry. But, come the end of Thanksgiving break we now face the oh so dreaded finals... Finals week is a week where coffee shops make there most money, the library is our home, and sleep does not exist. So here are 10 ways you can relieve some stress.

1. play with your pet
Our beloved fur babies are always there when we need them. And if you don't own a pet of your own...

2. Visit your local pound

You don't necessarily have to visit pounds only with the intention of adopting, just stop by for 30 min or so and let the furry babies help. And who knows maybe you'll fall in love and end up adopting a pet.. or if you're me you'll willingly adopt the whole pound.

3. Take a nap

A 30 minute nap wont kill you or your grade. it will be OK. So, set an alarm and catch some Zzzs

4. Watch a funny video

We all know laughter is the best medicine. Escape into YouTube's hidden tunnels and find all those strange but funny cat videos.. or any animal videos because animals are cute and make everyone happy.

5. Take a shower

OK, lets be real... we have all went a day or maybe two without showering because there just isn't any time and during dead week no one cares.. zero f**** are given. But, a nice long hot shower may be just the thing and only time of relaxation you get. So blast your favorite songs and put on a shower concert.

6. Hang out with a friend

You will both thank each other for this. Grab some lunch and complain endlessly to each other because that's what friends are for.

7. Go for a run or walk

Not only is this a great stress reliever, but your body will thank you for it. Put on your running shoes, grab your headphones and run off the stress, your mind and body will feel so much better!

8. Color

Don't even act like you don't like coloring. Coloring is fun even as a college student and it gives your brain a break from all you're cramming into it. And they now have awesome adult coloring books with super rad designs that are sure to get you into relaxation mode

9. Take a Netflix break

After studying for that chem test day and night as if your life depended on it (because it kind of does), catching up on an episode or two won't hurt. But this doesn't mean go on a two day binge watch, maybe you should set a timer as well.. just to be safe.

10. Call your mom

And if all else fails, call mom. Leave it to your mom to give you that confidence boost you need and remind you that everything will be okay. She will listen to your rant, tell you she loves you, and how proud they are. And if you're pretty close to home maybe she'll offer to buy you lunch. Food is always a win and moms are superheros.

No matter what method you choose to relieve the stress just remember that everything will be OK. the grades do not define you, you're only human and finals week didn't get the name dead week for no reason.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
