I recently started my sophomore year of college in Los Angeles. While there are many fun things to do on campus, I personally think it is important to take time to yourself and explore! California has so many things to offer, so why not take advantage of these opportunities?
1.Manhattan Beach
Take a day off and destress at Manhattan Beach. Whether you want to lay in the sand, swim in the ocean, or play beach volleyball, Manhattan has you covered. After your big day at the beach, I recommend visiting Paradise Bowls for the best acai bowl in California.
2. Live Taping
Attend a live taping of your favorite comedies and talk shows. The tickets are FREE and available online.
3. Harry Potter World
Be a part of the magic! Immerse yourself in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! (And try some Butterbeer while you're there.)
4. Malibu Hike

Hiking in Malibu is a must. My two favorite hikes are: Temescal Canyon and Los Liones Trail. The view from the top of each hike never disappoints.
5.Concert at the Shrine
Located next to the University of Southern California is the Shrine auditorium. This cool venue not only books well known artists, but the tickets are affordable.
6. Attend a sports game
Whether you are interested in baseball, basketball, or football, LA has it all.
7.Melrose
Melrose offers trendy shops and restaurants for all. I especially recommend visiting the Melrose Flea Market on Sundays.
8. Splurge and be a foodie
The food scene is Los Angeles is almost unreal. A few of my favorite spots are: El Cholo, Zinc, Sur, and The Ivy. For dessert, I recommend: the blackberry cobbler at Sur or ice cream from Salt and Straw.
9. Museums
Expand your knowledge of the arts by visiting LACMA or The Broad.
10. Coachella
I know Coachella does not actually take place in Los Angeles, but attending this festival is a must! Travel to Coachella Valley for the weekend and embrace the indi vibes.
