1. Go on a Hike.
If you’re feeling up to it, take a friend and go on a hike to somewhere green and beautiful--it’s a great way to start off your break. Somewhere calming and serene to give your mind a respite after finals season, you deserve it.
2. Eat Unhealthy Food.
I know, I know. You’ve been working hard for a Spring Break body. But now that you have it (or don’t, that’s completely okay too), it’s time to treat yourself with unhealthy food. Or any other food that you’ve been craving. Your motto for the break should be something like, eat now, worry later.
3. Sleep In.
Something very crucial if you had or are going to have 8 a.m. classes. Stock up on the rest now because you might not be getting much of it later. And don’t forget to turn your alarm clock off.
4. Don’t Think About School.
You’ve done enough of this. Forget about what grade you got in math or the grade you’re going to get in English. This is a school-free week, so leave it that way. Give your mind a break and don’t fret about your final scores; save that for when school starts back up again.
5. Lay on a Beach
If you’re fortunate enough to live in a place where there’s the sun and nice weather, take a quick trip to the beach. It’s typical spring break to-do list kind of stuff, but fun nonetheless. Plus, you can snap a quick picture to post on Instagram and show everybody how well your break is going.
6. Hang Out with Family (and Old Friends)
We all can relate to feeling of loneliness from time to time--laying in our beds, on those long college nights, and missing our families at home. So if you’re going back for the week, make sure to spend lots of time with mom, dad, brother, sister, grandparents and everybody else whom you miss. Go to a restaurant and eat together, a family fun center and game together, or even just laying down on the couch together-–whatever you do, make sure to cherish the time you spend with your loved ones before you have to go back.
7. Discover New Restaurants
This is important if you don’t get the opportunity to go out and eat a lot in college. Whether it be time or money, it’s hard getting out to eat somewhere new while worrying about your next midterm or homework assignment. So take advantage of this free time to find a new hole-in-the-wall place you’ve never been to before -- maybe it’ll even turn out to be your new fave restaurant.
8. Read a Book
Okay, let’s admit it, nobody has the time to read in college. It’s not your fault, there are a million other less time consuming this that need to be done. But with an entire week to do whatever you want, try picking up that new book you were eyeing and indulge in the plethora of time you have to pleasure read.
9. Take a Road/Day Trip
Let me tell you, the struggle of college without a car is very real. So if you have a car at home and can get from place to place with ease, take advantage of it and take a day trip with friends. Or pack it up and take a long road trip with your favorite people. This is perfect for making spontaneous decisions and momentous memories during your break.
10. Catch up on TV shows
If you were a good student and refrained from your Netflix account during school, this is your reward. Time to grab a bag of chips, hop on the couch with a blanket and pillow, and binge on "House of Cards" or catch up on the new "Fuller House." It’s okay if you stay there for hours too, no one’s judging.
