We have a little over a month before school starts back, I know, summer has gone by too fast! There's still plenty of time to squeeze in a lot of fun times and make some memories or even just make some smarter choices.
Here's 10 things you need to do before the start of a new semester!
1. Go on a road trip!
It doesn't matter if it's one state over or across the country, a road trip is essential to add to your to do list. Trust me, I just got back from a cross country trip. Best thing to happen to me.
2. Go to a concert.
What summer is complete without at least seeing one concert? It can be a small town gig, massive stadium concert, or a music festival, but it needs to happen ASAP.
3. Make a list of goals for your upcoming semester.
I know, this just took a detour into adult-land, but hear me out. Go ahead and make a list of some things you want to see yourself accomplish this semester while you are well rested and relaxed. This is the best time for you to do this because your head isn't cluttered with homework from the first day yet!
4. Cleanse!
No, I don't mean that weird Beyonce lemon water cleanse. I mean cleanse your mind and maybe your cell phone. Take some time to evaluate people in your life and whether they're people that should still be there or if you're moving on from that scene. Sometimes goodbyes are good! Healthy even.
5. Workout.
Ew. Let me start there. I have moments where I'm super into working out, but those are rare and fleeting. However, I'm learning it's best to get into a regular workout routine at this stage of our lives than when we're 40 and balancing 5000 other things before 7 a.m. So get up and get to the gym!
6. Spend time with your family!!
They love you and miss you when you're away. Stop going out with friends all the time or being anti and hiding away in your room 24/7. Go to your living room and chill with your parents while they watch reruns of The Andy Griffith Show.
7. Read that book you've been meaning to for the past year.
You know good and well you won't even think about reading anything that's not school related come August. Stop procrastinating and read that book instead of Netflix binging the same show you've already binged on three other times this summer.
8. Try something new!
This could be a new hairstyle (be careful), a new food, or a new face wash, doesn't matter! Step out of your comfort zone and try something new to see if you like it, you might surprise yourself!
9. Watch a sunrise.
There's nothing quite like waking up when it's still dark out and watching a new day begin. It's calming and even better, free! No better way to start a day in my opinion.
10. Have a throwback slumber party!
Nothing screams summer quite like staying up all night, jamming to *NSYNC throwbacks, eating pizza, and painting your nails a nice neon color you're sure to regret in the morning. Hanging with your gal pals is always a great way to spend the summer anyway!!
