10 Things To Do This Summer

If you haven't started your summer yet, it will be starting shortly. Summer is the time to catch up with friends and enjoy time with your family. Whether you have vacations or other amusements planned, try to fit in these ten must-dos for the summer.

1. Go to the Drive-Ins

Make plans on a Friday or Saturday night to chill out in a car with some friends or a significant other and enjoy two movies under the stars. These events can create the best memories and show how creative you can get to make it the best night possible.

2. Take on an Adventure

Who's not up for an adventure these days? Adventures let you explore the areas around you, and sometimes, you even stumble upon some pretty rad things that you never knew existed. Take at least one day to go on a hike or road trip to see something you have never seen.

3. Have a Fire

Everyone enjoys a good fire, right? Fires bring new and old friends together to bond and enjoy some laughs. You can tell stories, roast marshmallows, and even jam out to some old tunes. Fires are the way to go for some last minute party planning.

4. Go to Another State

Even if it is a neighboring state, go and see what is different there. Don't go by yourself, but if you need some me time, this road trip will be the best thing for you. Going to another state allows you to explore what else is out there.

5. Get Ice Cream

What is better than an ice cold treat on a hot summer night... nothing! Ice cream is the best treat to enjoy no matter where you live. The best ice cream comes from those little mom and pop ice cream shops, so do not be afraid to try a new one.

6. Go to the Beach

"Let's go to the beach, beach, let's go get away." even Nikki knew what was up. Going to the beach is the best stress reliever for anybody at any age. So pack a bag, hop in the car, and head to the shore to catch some waves and rays.

7. Go to an Amusement Park

Whether you go to a small family park or to a large park where you can spend a couple of days, go on some roller coasters, face your fears, and most of all, enjoy yourself with whomever you wish.

8. Take a Lazy Day

Take a day off from your job and all responsibilities; enjoy a day to yourself. You help others and cater to others all the time, so why not take a day for yourself? Lay out in the sun, read a book, or just take a nap. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy it!

9. Go to the Local Town Park

Take a little stroll down the block and enjoy some time to bring back childhood memories. Even if you just sit down on the bench and look at the sky, just take your time and breathe in the fresh air. Just take some time to breathe...

10. Go to a Concert

Who does not like a good jam session with some friends to a band or artist you all love! Concerts are the trademark of the summer with the tailgates, the drinking games, and the best part, the headliner band. Concerts are where you are in your natural habitat with others who feel the same way you do.

So, take these 10 awesome activities and get out there and make this the best summer ever!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
