10 Things That Always Happen During The First Week Of College As Told By 'The Office'

The first week back to college is completely different than the first week back to high school. More than likely, you're pumped to be back on campus! While of course, coming to campus as a freshman was an exciting and even maybe a nerve racking experience, coming back to campus has a continuing student or upperclassmen feeling just as excited! I figured, why not include everyone's favorite TV show, 'The Office' to help explain 10 things that happen the first week back at college!

1. Moving back in and having to carry heavy things in 90 degrees.

Decorating your dorm or apartment is always fun, but the process of getting all your things there, usually in mid-August, is never easy.

2. Going to your classes early because you're still getting used to your new schedule.

You leave 20 minutes, maybe 30 minutes early for class, even though this isn't your first rodeo trying to find which classroom you're in. It's okay to be the first one in class, right? Better early than late! Is that how the saying goes?

3. Doing ice breakers and "get to know me" things in class.

Let's be honest, no one likes these because they're uncomfortable and they're kind of point less. No one is trying to be "besties." It's better to try and sink low into your chair and hope no one calls on you.

4. Not having to do a lot of work because of #SyllabusWeek.

Honestly the best. So. Much. Free. Time.

5. The professors who try to actually teach through #SyllabusWeek.

We're not ready or prepared to learn yet!

6. Seeing friends you haven't been able to see all summer.

Sometimes you aren't able to see your friends over the summer because you're both working trying to save up as much money possible before school starts, or they live too far away. But once you do see them, you'll probably tackle them because you missed them so much.

7. You realized that summer is pretty much over.

This realization that summer is over is not a very good feeling and it's time to get to work.

8. You also sometimes wish you could go back on vacation instead of being in class.

What Kevin said. You're happy to be back at school, but you also kinda wish you could be on a beach.

9. Picking unassigned assigned seats and someone taking your seat on the 3rd day.

Someone obviously didn't get the memo and now the whole classroom is out of wack. Don't be that person.

10. Finally, it's the end of the week!

The weekend is here and you probably have zero responsibilities. So, why not party it up (while being safe)!?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
