We all know its true

10 Things Science Majors Understand

Being a science major is not easy. We all know and understand that. But we would not have picked any other career field to go into.

1. Forgetting to bring your safety googles to class

Of course the day you actually really need them, you forget them! Which means that you have to borrow from the class set that anyone and everyone can use. This is a science majors worse fear, because you do not know when they were cleaned last and what might be on them.

2. The endless studying

Seeing all your friends that barely have any homework and can go out and have fun all week and all weekend, while you are stuck in your room or a study room, doing all your endless studying and homework. It seems like it never stops.

3. Other majors "hard" classes, make you giggle

When you hear your friends talk about how hard their classes are, you just giggle. You show them your classwork and notes, and they look at you like you are speaking a different foreign language.

4. Textbooks weigh about as much as you do

It seems that only the science classes has books that are big and bulky. It seems that you can pick out science majors because they are most likely the ones that are carrying two backpacks on their backs full of textbooks. And lets talk about the price of the textbooks, because they are so big, they also cost a lot of money.

5. Never being prepared.

No matter how long or how much you have studied, you are never prepared. Everything you have gone over in class, you can almost bet that the text/quiz is going to be about 100x harder than anything thing you could possibly think of.

6. Being called a nerd never goes away

Whenever someone asked you what your major was or asked you what wanted to do when you grew up, it always ended the same. With them saying, "Oh you must be a nerd." Well yeah apparently. I picked one of the hardest thing to go into, I am a nerd and I am pretty damn proud of it.

7. Always questioning your sanity

No matter what point in the semester, but really during exam week, are you questioning your sanity and why you did this to yourself. You see all your friends blowing off their finals because they most likely know what is going to be on it. They always question why they never see you during exam week, its because you live, sleep, breathe studying and science.

8. Also having labs.

Basically every afternoon you have a lab, which means you do not get done until three hours later than everyone else. Having labs all the time means that you can not dress how you wish, you must dress according to how you have to dress for lab.

9. Switching to MLA writing style

Having to switch between two different writing styles is a pain in your rear end. Science classes require one to write in APA writing style, but every other class wants MLA. Sometimes you forget and end up getting points taken off, and your professors really do not care what you are more comfortable with.

10. Lastly, life is like survivor, you watch all your friends slowly drop from your class or switch majors, and you just sit back and wait for your time to come.

All your friends that you have made since your first semester seem to be disappearing. Weather it is because they found that their calling was somewhere else or they just could not take the heat. You just sat there as your majors following grew smaller and smaller and you were just waiting for your time to come.

But in the end you know it will be worth in once you get a job in the field you love. There are tons of jobs in the science field. These jobs are never going to go away. Just stick throw that awful lab partner or that insanely hard math classes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
