If you know me, you know I'm from The Bay. And if you know I'm from The Bay, you know that I miss home constantly! Since summer is approaching fast and I'm counting down the days until I can finally go home, I thought I would list 10 things that I miss from The Bay.
This was actually really hard since I wanted to be specific and say, like, how much I miss University Ave. in Palo Alto, but I thought I would stick to the general area. The Bay has so much more to offer than these 10 things, but certain cities would need their own lists! If you have never been, then here's some things you can look forward to. And if you are from NorCal, here are some things maybe you can relate to.
10.
I miss how easy traveling up and down the freeways is. People don't drive crazy nor do you feel like you're going to have a heart attack every time you merge. Since I take the 5 down up, you know home is near when you hit 101.

I miss how calm the Bay Area weather is. Nothing crazy like over 80 degrees here. Mid-70s are absolutely perfect here. After all, people do say that we're paying for the weather!

As cliche as it sounds, I miss the basic NorCal staples. The Golden Gate Bridge is obviously one of the most iconic places to visit in NorCal. You know you're in the heart of The Bay when you're here.

Though SoCal does have us beat in the beach department, one of the most popular beaches to visit is Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk (in the warm California sun). Many childhood summer memories were formed here, and since I like to go back home every summer, I'm hoping a few more will be made here in summer 2016!

I hella can't wait to be surrounded by people who won't look at me funny or snicker when I use my favorite word. And yes, we use it a lot. And no, we don't think about it when we do. Stop making fun of us for it, it's weird.

Now, not all of our teams are doing so hot this year around, but we have some damn good teams that we are proud of! Plus, we still have a few more teams that weren't able to make the picture. AKA I couldn't find one on a Google search, and these are my favorite teams anyway so I'm going to showcase them if I want to.

Yet another San Francisco gem! Pier 39 is a major tourist attraction in The Bay. From actual sea lions to a huge aquarium, restaurants, shops, museums, boat tours, Alcatraz, and any other thing you can imagine, San Francisco has it all! Not to mention the many other fun places SF has to offer that are not located on the pier itself.

SoCal can keep its Coffee Bean. Philz Coffee is a definite NorCal addiction. There's always a Philz Coffee around where you can sit in a hipster shop and take aesthetic Insta pics of your mint mojito iced coffee. Or, even better, one ecstatic iced coffee for me, please!

An obvious factor that I miss about The Bay is the food! Here is the classic Pizza My Heart that can only be found in NorCal. While LA probably has plenty to offer in the food world, I'm pretty much stuck around campus all of the time and any good food is definitely an hour away. Back in The Bay, whether you want pizza or some greasy, beautiful, delicious tacos from El Grullense, everything food related is nearby.

And if you haven't guessed it by now, home is the biggest thing that I miss about being in The Bay. Whether you live in the City, Silicon Valley, East Bay, or wherever, your heart will always belong in The Bay.
