1. Their uncanny ability to make me smile no matter what.
And I mean no matter what. I have had some pretty rough days this past year, I lost a very important friend of mine, and no matter what, my friends made sure to keep my head up.
2. They keep my head straight.
They make sure I keep from saying things I will regret. They stop me from talking to a boy that will break my heart. They keep me grounded and help me to remember to try to see things from other people's points of view.
3. To go back to the second reason, they fix your broken heart.
No matter if that boy/girl that you like end up crushing you. They are there to piece you back together. They bring laughs, joy, tissues, and a good pep talk. If you hate who broke your heart, they will make sure to hate them, too.
4. I love my friends because they love me.
They make me feel wholesome, adored, special, and like I am worth so much even on days when I feel like nothing. This is so so important.
5. My friends are the best people ever.
They're adorable and filled with joy and jokes and beautiful words. My friends shine so bright, and I love being able to watch them grow and to know that I am a part of that journey and that hopefully I am also helping them to become the best that they can be.
6. My friends understand me a lot.
They can tell the difference between when I am having a bad day and when I'm mad. They know when to give me space and when to suffocate me with love. They know how to make me smile, cry, and laugh. They know I have good day and bad days, and they understand that when I hear that song it has to be changed. They know what topics are sore and stay away from them. It's wonderful.
7. They let me wear their clothes.
This seems dumb, but it is really great. As friends and best friends, our wardrobes are basically all one. We share clothes, give them away, and are brutally honest if something looks good or bad. After all you have to make sure that one another looks perfect.
8. The honesty.
We tell each other if we look really good or really, really bad. But that's not all. We also tell each other if we are being dumb, childish, or straight-up rude. We keep each other's heads on straight. But we never take it to a point of being mean.
9. They give amazing advice that guides me though life.
They are like my parents in the best way. They aren't controlling, and they don't tell me what to do. They just talk to me. They give advice on boys, politics, food, clothes, music, college, friends, and everything else. They tell me their opinions but don't expect me to follow it exactly. They let me be free, and they don't expect me to be perfect because none of us are.
10. They bring out the best in me and always have my back.
This has been weaved throughout, but they always make sure I am the best me. They always hate who I hate, yet still help me to see the best in people. If something goes wrong or right, they are always there for me. They know what to say and to do. Even when they see the worst of me, the anger, the sadness, the rude words, they still love me no matter what. I love my friends.
