10 Things I Learned After Watching Star Wars Rogue One

If you stop and think about it, there is a lot we can learn about our future by watching Star Wars movies.

So I'll admit it. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan; however, I'll sit through the movies in the theater and pretend like I know what's going on. I always thought Star Wars took place in the future because of all the crazy technology they have. I don't think I'd be afraid to walk alone at night if I had a lightsaber of my own. What I never realized is that the movie starts out by saying, "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away," which kind of makes it obvious that it's in the past, right? Well, not exactly.

1. Everyone is British

I don't understand if only the British make it or if everyone just develops a random British accent.

2. We will have even deadlier weapons

Forget bullets! Everyone is going to be shooting lasers out of their guns which I don't think is a quick fix at the doctor's office.

3. Robots are super sarcastic and have an attitude

I loved K-2SO. I could never see myself having children, only dogs, but maybe in the future I could adopt a robot like him.

4. People dress in rags for clothing

You would think that with all this technology they would have better clothes or armor. Nope. I think Lady Gaga could come up with a better wardrobe.

5. We still haven't figured out how to bring people back to life

A lot of brave ones died in the movie and I sat there thinking about how it was possible. Sure, they got blown up or shot with a laser, but how have we not figured out how to bring people back to life yet?

6. Some toxic waste outbreak happened, creating all sorts of creepy creatures

I have no idea what kind of toxic waste collection we end up making, but I know these creatures had to be made from something deadly. I just hope they weren't normal looking humans before and ended up being contaminated.

7. Battles in the sky look like a round of Galaga

Pew, Pew, Pew. Let the kids play their video games because believe it or not that may become a useful skill in the future to save the galaxy.

8. People have a hard time breathing and need gas masks

I guess no one took the whole global warming and caring about the environment with its bad air thing, seriously. So now some civilians have to wear masks in order to breathe.

9. There are robot dinosaurs that shoot out lasers

Jurassic Park, who?! We have robot dinosaurs that can shoot out lasers off their heads.

10. Star Wars movies will continue to be made and be confusing, so may the force be with you
