People always say that as you get older you'll look back on your life and wish you knew what you know now. I completely agree with this statement and even though it's cliche, people really do mature with age. Looking back, there are definitely some things that I wish I knew earlier in life.
1. Stress Less
High school, at the time, seems like it is going to impact you for the rest of your life, yet as a junior in college, I can promise you it does not. That one class you failed and your mediocre SAT score has absolutely no bearing on your life now and I can personally say I regret the time I spent constantly stressing over it.
2. Enjoy downtime
I wish I took advantage of all the time I got to watch Netflix in bed because there is definitely not enough time for that in my daily schedule anymore.
3. Money isn't everything
Sometimes buying something because you want it is a good enough reason and you shouldn't feel bad about yourself for it. What good is money that is constantly sitting in a savings account if you can't even feel happy about its value.
4. You don't need to plan everything
Believe it or not, sometimes winging things work out just as well, if not better, than things would of if you took the time and energy to plan them out. Save yourself the stress and just let life take you where it pleases.
5. Go on adventures
I cannot stress this enough. You will always remember the adventures you go on and the people who share them with you. Sometimes it's good to do something different because you will remember it for the rest of your life.
6. Meet new people
There are so many people out there in the world and even though you may not be friends with all of them, you can sure try.
7. Look at things from different angles
Don't be stubborn, try to understand someone else's point of view, otherwise you'll never get anywhere in life.
8. There are so many hours in a day
Sometimes you need to get a bad night of sleep in order to be successful and that's okay! There are so many hours in a day that even if you don't think you will get everything done chances are you will.
9. Everything always works out
Even in the worst of times when you don't think things could possibly work out, they always do, and usually, they work out for the better. Sometimes you just have to put your trust in fate and hope for the best.
