Senioritis is so real. If anything, it is so much worse in college than high school, and I transferred so it is my third time being a senior. I am normally super hardworking, but something about having the end so near just brings out the lazy coaster in me. I just took my first midterm, and I barely reviewed for it (though I pay attention in class, so I guess I didn’t NEED to obsessively memorize everything). So anyway, here’s an unproductive list of things to do instead of studying for midterms in case anyone else is looking for corrupt activities.
1. Sleep
Always the answer, and easily justifiable. You’ll be sharper if you’re better rested, right?
2. Watch something, anything
Netflix, YouTube, movies you’ve been meaning to get around to for a while…
3. Read something completely unrelated
When this is my method of distraction, it is usually light reading. For instance, today, I read a student-produced magazine (not intended as a criticism, it’s just definitely on a level other than say, a collection of essays or something).
4. Paint my nails
God knows they could use it, they’re always chipped and flaking.
5. Waste time on the internet
I don’t think this one needs any explanation.
6. Play with a dog
This is a good solution to probably every situation ever, and this is no exception. Plus, it’s a great stress reliever.
7. Clean the dishes…and the bathroom, and do the laundry
It’s not procrastination if you’re productive, right?
8. Cook a meal
I mean, come on, you owe it to yourself, think of all the ramen you’ve been eating lately.
9. Text/call friends I haven’t talked to in a while
Friends are definitely more important than midterms anyway.
10. Go out
I went out with my roommate on a Monday. To a bar. Did I regret this? Not one bit. (Okay, maybe a little the next day, but, hey sleepiness is temporary.)
