There are tons of things to love about sharing a room with one of your best friends. Our roommates are our go to people about almost everything, there's no way that they can judge us because they know all of our best and worst qualities. But, sharing a living space with someone can be one of the most frustrating things we ever do throughout the course of our college careers. Everyone has quirks that can be hard to put up with on an every day basis.
1. She can be a little bit messy.
How long have those dishes been piled up for? Do I always have to be the one to take the trash out?
2. She lets her alarm go off a billion times before turning it off.
So much for sleeping in. After her alarm has gone off about eight times you might as well go to class with her.
3. She comes home from the library at 4 in the morning.
Okay, this is understandable, but must she turn on every light in the room?
4. Her friends never picked up their trash or their belongings from the pre-game that was last weekend.
The longer this bottle of vodka sits here, the closer it is to becoming mine. So... I guess that's not all bad.
5. Where are my clothes?
When your favorite sweater is missing, she's the first one you interrogate about it.
6. You brought that boy home again?
But, maybe I'm just a little bitter because I'm the most awkward person when it comes to flirting.
7. You have to label your food.
After the leftovers you were planning on having for lunch went missing, you've been pretty adamant about making it known what food is yours. I mean, sharing is caring, but food is sacred.
8. Don't tell her I told you, but she snores.
Well, looks like I won't be sleeping for a while... Might as well catch up on some Netflix.
9. I envy you when you get to sleep in.
The worst is having to wake up for your 9 a.m. accounting class, while your roommate gets to sleep their day away because she doesn't have classes on Fridays.
10. When she isn't home.
What could possibly be worse than when you open the door expecting to have someone to talk to about your day or the crazy things that happened the night before, and she isn't there?
Face it: we all get a little fed up with our roommates every now and then. But despite the number of things that can be bothersome, there are just as many (if not more) things that we love about them. She makes you go work out, she listens to how your day was, she gives you fashion advice, she's always up for a trip to Chipotle and she'll never judge you when you come home in the same clothes from the night before. All of their quirks start to grow on us and they quickly become our best friends. Living for a month without them around was actually pretty depressing. At the end of the day you wouldn't change a thing.
