Spring break is over and school is finally here. We have to wake up and go to class, we've got Jamboree, we've got finals week and then that's basically it. After this four weeks is all we've got. Four, and they are going to go by painfully slow. I know it's frustrating but here is a list of things we as Faulkner students need to speed up the process and make it out alive.
1. Coffee. Lots of coffee.
That wonderful thing that gives us life and helps us make it through our days, weeks and months. Get lots of it, drink and breathe it until you drive off campus after your last final.
2. Your bed.
Your bed is going to hold you through dead week and finals week. It's going to keep you comfortable and make you happy as well as hide you from all of your worldly responsibilities through the next five weeks.
3. Going to Chapel.
If you are anything like me then you received the email saying that you've exceeded your chapel absences and are currently unable to register for the fall. Well ladies and gentlemen I have 9 chapel skips now so for the next five weeks I can't miss a single one.
4. Netflix.
This one goes along with your bed. Netflix helps us forget that we have a stack of lab reports, extra credit work, and those ten page papers. Weather it be One Tree Hill, Friday Night Lights, or the Bachelor! Netflix is a college students best friend it helps us realize that we are all emotionally spent, physically and mentally dead, and just overall done with this semester. We should just lay in bed and figure out why Ben chose Lauren because that's what I'm doing...
5. Chick- fil-a
Number five on the list and number one in my heart. By the end of this week I will probably have had six large fries, six large Dr. Peppers and 48 chicken nuggets with absolutely no ragrets.
6. Running out of Eagle Bucks
You all know what I'm talking about each time I walk into Siena and order a drink I am praying Dear Lord Baby Jesus that there is just enough to get me a caffeinated beverage. So far so good though my peeps because I haven't gotten that little comment saying "You are officially out of eagle bucks" just yet. #PRAISE
7. The Promise of Sunshine at the End of the Bleak Tunnel That is My Life.
I can literally see the light the wonderful, bright, beautiful light that is summer. The light that is giving us all the strength to wake up for class, chapel, and even lunch. The light that is telling me summer is coming and that I will not have to endure another Cafeteria meal, another class in smelly Brooks Hall, and I will not have to walk into the financial aid office anymore for a whole three months.
8. Pray Without Ceasing My Dear Friends.
Thank you God for helping me make it this far into the semester without putting myself into a food induced coma, for not letting my eyes melt out of my head from my Netflix addiction that is life, and for helping me not end up in a crying heap on the floor. I have prayed this prayer every day for the past three months and I will continue for the next three weeks. I will pray to God that he gives me strength enough to pass my finals and to allow me to be nice to security when they lock the buildings as I try to finish thirteen lab reports.
9. Finals.
That week when we do not know when our finals are because we don't pay attention in class when the teacher tells us. Studying in the buildings that our tuition pays for and getting kicked out so that security can lock up. Calling Dr.Thompson at midnight and telling him we need somewhere to study because who studies in their room because that's how you fall asleep and never wake up.
10. Loading your car and driving off this campus for three months.
Your last final is over hopefully your teacher made it to your final and didn't fall asleep in his office #FlynnMurphy. You've made the two billion trips to your car, walked up and down the stairs that you don't even need a stair master, and have said goodbye to the roommate that you love/hate depending on the day. You've realized that you aren't going to eat grilled chicken every Tuesday and Thursday, you're not going going to have the blessing of seeing Jon Podein's face at 10 am everyday, and you are not going to hold up that fist and shout "Never Fail" for three whole months.
Although we are all done and tired of school, nothing is going be better than the feeling of driving back onto 5345 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, Alabama 36109 in August. I cannot wait to come back and I LOVE Faulkner University.
