Taking pictures is not only a way to capture memories, but it is also a huge part of our culture. And taking the right picture with the perfect lighting, pose, and worthy of Instagram is a frickin’ struggle.

Not to mention, the majority of the time we take pictures, we aren’t our most sober selves, rendering it quite difficult to keep eyes open and double chin out of sight.

It's an unspoken Girl Code that we must take as many pictures as it takes to get the perfect shot, not because we're nice, but because we want someone to do it for us! We silently understand just how important getting a flattering picture to 'gram is. Taking pictures is a production, and these are a few things girls say during the making of a perfect picture.

1. Just one more!!!

Those first 30 were just practice! Now I know that the lighting is good, just a couple more please!

2. Omg sorry I'm annoying, just a couple more!

And when I say just one more, I really mean at least 50 more...

3. You look SO cute!

Of course I am going to tell my picture buddy they look SO cute when they do! But until WE look cute, the photoshoot must go on!

4. Okay, pretend like I said something funny

5. Wow, I look HUGE!

Every time I have pizza for dinner...

6. This is my good side

We all got one!

7. Tell me how to pose!

I. Need. Feedback. How am I supposed to look better without a little direction??

8. What should I fix??

If there's a hair in front of my face or half my nipple is out, it's imperative you share!

9. Were my eyes closed??

8/10 times the answer is yes..

10. I need to suck in more

If I just hold my breath and twist a little to the right we should be fine!

11. Do my boobs look good?

One doesn't look bigger than the other right??

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
