10 Things Every Foodie In Philly Needs To Try

Philly has amazing food options for every appetite. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert, there's always something in the City of Brotherly Love to feast on. Check out these hot spots for the best eats.

1. Eggs Benedict -- The Belgian Cafe

We all know that Eggs Benedict is a staple brunch item, but The Belgian Cafe adds a little twist to theirs. Instead of having it on an English muffin they give it to you on a Belgian waffle! Also served with asparagus, it is the perfect brunch satisfaction!

2. Sushiritto -- Hai Street Kitchen & Co.

If you love sushi and burritos, this is your lucky day! Hai Street Kitchen offers the best of both worlds with their sushiritto! You can order one off their menu or create your own!

3. Gelato -- Capogiro Gelato

If you haven't already, you need to make a stop at Capogiro! They have the best gelato in Philadelphia, plus, with all of the flavors they have to offer, it's tough to choose!

4. Udon Noodle Salad -- HipCityVeg

Honestly, if you go to HipCityVeg once, you're going to have to go back again because everything on their menu is just that amazing! But I really love the Udon Noodle Salad; pair it with their signature Groothie and it is the perfect lunch!

5. Good Dog Burger -- Good Dog Bar

You may be thinking that this is just another place to get a burger, but this burger might just be the best burger in Philadelphia. Featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," this burger might just have the top spot in Philly.

6. Red Velvet Pancakes -- Green Eggs Cafe

All you need to do is look at the picture to know you want them.

7. Pizza -- Santucci's Original Square Pizza

At Santucci's they make their pizzas a little bit different than everyone else. What they do to make their pizza stand out more than others is put the cheese down first and then the sauce. And let me tell you, it's a game-changer.

8. French Onion Soup -- Parc Restaurant

Parc is known for its famous french onion soup. All I can say is that it lives up to its standards.

9. Rad Na Thai Chicken -- Continental Mid-Town

This is probably the best salad that you will ever have in your lifetime. The bottom layer is lettuce, and then it is topped with the best noodles I have ever had, light dressing and chicken. This is also the only salad I will ever fully eat.

10. Kale'atta -- Honeygrow

Honeygrow is mostly known for its amazing salads and stir fry, but there is one thing on the menu that I think most people overlook: the Kale'atta Smoothie. I think most people turn it away so fast because they see the word kale and because it's green, but when you drink it you can't even taste the kale. Plus, when people see you drinking something green they automatically think you're healthy.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
