College is a season in everyone's life that they can use to get better at something.

1. Make Your Bed Every Day

It may seem like an impossible task, but once you get in a routine it becomes easier.

2. Cook More Meals

Forget about the microwave meals and learn to cook using fresh ingredients.

3. Sit Down At A Table And Eat Your Meal

Don't eat in your bed or on the couch. Why not even turn the television off?

4. Dress Up For Class

It's the one thing that NO ONE wants to do, but we should all try to do. It will make your day much better.

5. Make Friends With Your Professors

It's the best thing you can do for your GPA.

6. Learn To Speak Out In Class

It will help you later on in your career.

7. Wake Up Early

You will get a lot more done.

8. Go To Bed Early

If you wake up early, then you need go to bed early. Sleep is everything.

9. Learn How To Budget

"Adulting," can be hard, but "adulting," without learning how to budget can be even harder.

10. Stop With FOMO

The fear of missing out is one big lie. How about the fear of being too busy or the fear of lack of sleep? Now those should be what we are really afraid of.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
