Snapchat is arguably one of the most popular apps to hit smartphones. It is a convenient way of communicating with your friends and often builds relationships. Amongst all the people that have downloaded Snapchat, there are a few elements that can be seen throughout everyone’s Snapchat stories. Yes, even our own. Here is a list of 10 things that are commonly seen in Snapchat stories:

1. Food/Cooking Extraordinaire:

We all have that one friend who uses their snap story to host their own version of Emeril Live. A lot of these posts are our friend’s step-by-step process on how they prepared their “gourmet” meal. These posts often just get overlooked and buried amongst the other story posts, however, sometimes our friends can shock us with what they prepared only leaving us hungry.

2. Situational monologs:

These story posts are usually random and can happen at any time of the day. They occur when a friend is confronted with a situation that they feel they need to express their opinion on. If you see the opening stages of a series of monolog story posts, then be prepared to watch that particular person's story for at least a minute as they often take multiple posts to complete.

3. The Commute:

Whenever our friends go on a long trip, they seem to always have the desire to post some aspect of their commute to that destination onto their Snap story. These stories often take place just as one of their favorite songs comes on and they want to share that experience of hype with you.

4. Concert Updates:

We all dread the snap stories that are really just our friends live streaming a concert that they are at. These stories often seem to last an eternity and most friends don’t even bother to watch all of them. With that being said, if you are going to be posting a concert you're going to, try to keep it at a reasonable amount so people can actually make it through your story.

5. Pets:

Whenever we get a new pet, there is always the need to post it our Snap Stories in order to show all of our friends. These posts never stop after we get them, as pets often find themselves doing noteworthy things. These story posts often can brighten an otherwise bad day.

6. Hey Look I’m Exercising:

If you have a friend who enjoys going to the gym day after day, then you probably see these snap stories on a daily basis. These friends fill as if they weren’t really at the gym unless they post it to all sorts of social media, especially Snapchat. We do, however, find humor when friends that typically don’t do anything physical post a Gym update once in a blue moon. You’re not fooling anyone.

7. Homework/Study Session:

The all but evident Homework session stories are more often than none posted in the name of procrastination. Let's be honest if we were really studying as hard as we are making it seem, we wouldn’t be thinking of Snapchat.

8. Work Flow:

Whenever we have "downtime" at work, we always seem to whip out our phones and update our friends on how our workday is going. These posts are often risky, as most employers frown upon cellphone use during your work shift. At the end of the day, is your Snap story worth your job?

9. Party Festivities:

Similar to the concert snap stories, our friends seem to find the need to share their night out every time they go on a bar crawl. These Snap stories will begin with the getting ready/ pregame phase and usually end with breakfast posts the morning after. It should be noted that a lot of these posts are often hard to make out what is happening in the chaos, so it's probably in the best interest of your phone's safety for you to skip these story updates.

10. People Watching:

Whenever we go out to do anything, we always run into at least one person that is doing something absolutely absurd. There is nothing better than being able to capture these precious events and post them on our Snap story. The best part about these Snap stories is the fact that they are hidden amongst the sea of other snap stories and often catch us by surprise. Thank god for technology.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
