1. Homemade Meals
While the meal options are close to endless, Dining Hall food is not all it's cracked up to be and after the first few months Ramen and Easy Mac have become my worst enemy.
2.Our Parents Taking Care of Us
Boy, the first time I got sick in college was really one of the worst experiences of my life.
3.Our own Laundry Machines
There's nothing much more disappointing than forgetting my laundry is finished downstairs and going to the laundry room only to realize that someone has thrown my clean clothing all over a table because it was their turn to use the dryer.
4.Having Your Own Kitchen
Cooking with nothing but a Keurig and a microwave make eating in the dorm the least bit simple.
5.Knowing Your Hometown Like the Back of Your Hand
Having to use a GPS every time I leave campus can leave me feeling a bit confused and disappointed that I still can't find my local grocery store.
6.Lazy Days
As much as I hated laying around with nothing to do at home, it's much better than constantly being overloaded with homework, work and club meetings for a whole semester at a time.
7. Having Your Own Room
Before moving into college I couldn't wait to live with my three "future best friends." While I love each of these girls very much, having my own room and my own space would help me contain my sanity sometimes.
8. Having Your Own Bathroom
While each suite at my school has their own bathroom, sharing a bathroom with three other teenage girls is messier than I'd expected.
9. Going to School Close to Home
While some people are hours away from home at college, I'm about 45 minutes away. That seems fairly close to most people, but to me it's way too far. I can go home whenever I want to but never as often as I want to.
10. Your Bed
My bed at school has 2 different mattress pads and as comfortable as that may seem, there's nothing worse than rolling over in the middle of the night and bumping my head on my desk or the wall.
