Well, holiday season is here! As November rounds the corner to an end, December will come right on in. I don't know about you, but for me, November and December are the most magical of months. Thanksgiving and Christmas scream family and friends to me. It is the one time the whole family stops everything just to come together and spend time with one another.

As I have grown up, I have started to see the holidays for something other than just gift receiving and giving. It is a time to be thankful for things. It is a time to be thankful for one another, especially family. Life is so very precious and being able to spend time with the most meaningful people in your life around the holidays is a beautiful thing.

To bring some light to this holiday season: Here are 10 things I am thankful for this year.

1. My family.

Today and everyday I am thankful for you. My biggest supporters and my biggest fans. I love you with everything in me.

2. My Jeep.

I mean, damn, have you seen her?! She's beautiful. But, I am mainly thankful that I have a car and that she is reliable.

3. My job.

Working with the public can be one of the hardest things, but having such wonderful coworkers who have turned into good friends make the job worth while. Plus, I have a job in the first place. I am thankful to simply, have a job.

4. Being an E.M.T.

I love what I do. I love helping others and I am beyond thankful that I get the opportunity to do so. I am also thankful for my Wednesday night crew- you guys make the job fun and ultimately, even more worth it.

5. My health.

I am thankful for my health today and everyday. Even if those winter colds are coming!

6. My home.

Beyond thankful that I have a place to call home. A place that has heat and blankets and a roof over my head.

7. My friends.

Life would be horrible without you. Thanks for always brightening up my days and being such wonderful friends. Thankful for you always.

8. My cats.

Evil and Eviler = Milo and Stella. They might be the craziest cats in the world, but I wouldn't want any other cats!

9. My life.

In general, I am beyond thankful for my life. I am thankful for waking up everyday and being able to do what I love to do. I am thankful that I get to be whoever I want to be and that I have the power to control that everyday.

10. My girl Cat.

I am thankful for you everyday. Here's to our first holiday season together and so many more to come. Thanks for coming into my life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
