These hand-picked series are not only extremely entertaining, but are exceptionally well done from a filming and production standpoint. Many of them also contain themes and messages that would be great for one to absorb and understand. These are 10 television series on Netflix that not only fail to disappoint, but that one must watch and would benefit from.
1. "Bloodline"
2. "Narcos"
The series of events that occur in Narcos are dark, depressing, and unfortunate, but this show is bad-ass. Bad-ass in a sense where it's not so much as "cool," but frightening. A great series that allows for today's generation to know the full story behind the world's most deadly drug lord that ever lived (Pablo Escobar).
3. "House of Cards"
Another Netflix Original series. Again, would be beneficial for today's generation to see due to the combining themes of politics and power. Too many good things to be said about this show.
4. "Mad Men"
A show that takes place in the advertising world of the 1960s. Understand the greed behind men in advertising and that loyalty is not present. Work where chain-smoking, and drinking whiskey before noon is a norm.
5. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
Created by Tina Fey, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is a comedy that delivers witty/stupid humor. A show that doesn't take much for someone to laugh. It is great to watch without having to pay much attention. Mindless entertainment.
6. "Better Call Saul"

The spin-off/prequel of "Breaking Bad." The production and writing will let you know that most of the crew who worked on Breaking Bad are working for this show. It was questionable whether Bob Odenkirk (Saul) could take on a leading role, but he absolutely delivers.
7. "Friday Night Lights"
"Friday Night Lights" is a series that can be re-watched over and over again. The acting in the show is definitely underrated, as it saved the series from being a cliché of a small Texas town and the importance of football in the community. Not only the acting, but the conflicts and events that take place outside of football are what make people want to watch it. And it is why actual football scenes are not as present as one may expect before watching the show. From a filming standpoint, one thing to notice is the "shaky-cam" technique that is used for a more real portrayal and experience.
8. "One Tree Hill"
This teen drama achieved being on air for nine seasons. (2003-2011) A show where drama between adolescents and adults is extremely exaggerated and unrealistic, but it does not fail to keep one entertained. There are also phases where the show could be classified as a thriller/horror.
9. "Breaking Bad"
"Breaking Bad" is the greatest critically acclaimed television show ever created. Why? Just look it up. (Also see Guinness Book of World Records) Both of those things wouldn't be necessary if one watches or has watched it. Things that stand out from a filming aspect are the unusually effective camera angles and the music.
10. "The Ranch"
A Netflix Original Series that was just recently released, and a comedy that our generation would benefit from watching. The show portrays an effective combination of characters who contain attitudes of millennials and at the same time truly know the importance of family and hard work. It contains a "tough love" humor, and stars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson who were co-stars of "That 70's Show." A filming technique that stands out are the show's effective use of dissolves and fades. They make the transitioning of scenes extremely smooth. The lighting is also similar to that of "That 70's Show."
