10 Things You Should Do Before Your Summer's Over

10 Things You Should Do Before Your Summer's Over

1. Spend The Day At The Beach

What's summer without spending some time at the beach? It doesn't have to be a white sandy beach on the ocean. Any beach will do! Just as long as there is some sand to dig your toes into, some water to go swimming in, and a sunny day to soak up some rays!

2. Go Camping

Either you hate camping or you love camping. Whichever side you're on you're sure to make some great memories on a camping trip with your friends and family. The best part about camping is staying up until the wee hours of the night sitting around the campfire talking about things that don't even come to mind during the day time. Conversations around the campfire are the kind of talks you'll remember for the rest of your life.

3. Go To A Concert

These days concerts can be pretty expensive, but I try to see someone I like at least once a year, and summertime is the perfect time to go! The nicer, warmer weather means more concerts are outside, which makes them even better. Whether it's your first concert or you're a concert junkie like me, nothing's better than seeing your favorite band in the summer heat.

4. Have A Sleepover

Summer is the perfect time to catch up with your friends from home by having a good old fashion sleepover. It can be hard to stay in contact with friends from high school when you move off to college, so if you are home from the summer try to sneak in some girl time with your old friends. There's nothing like gossiping with your friends while eating sugary snacks at midnight!

5. Pick Up An Old Hobby

During the school year it seems like I never have time to work on any of my hobbies, which is why I love spending time on them in the summer. For me I like to work on my photography or work on my drawing skills, but you can do whatever suits you. There are so many different activities to chose from and it's the perfect time to pick up an old hobby.

6. Try Something New

It's also the perfect time to pick up a new hobby! Maybe go to that hot yoga class you've been wanting to go to, or maybe you want to give gardening a try to see if you have a green thumb

7. Go Hiking

I've always been a fan of the outdoors, so I love spending my summer checking out trails around my area and once in awhile I'll go on a mini road trip to see a more exotic trail with picturesque views and more challenging courses. If you've never gone hiking summer is a great time to go because the warm weather makes it a lot more enjoyable and there is a lot of wildlife to see this time of year.

8. Try Some New Recipes

I love trying new recipes while I'm at home for the summer because when I'm at school I don't always have all of the ingredients I need, but at home it's almost guaranteed that everything I need is either in the fridge or in the pantry. This is the perfect time to try possible dinners for the school year because you can see if you like them before you decide to whip up a batch at school.

9. Go To The Local Farmer's Market

I love going to the farmer's market because there's always something for everyone there. There's not only venders selling fruits and vegetables, but also different food venders and specialty and novelty vendors alike. My favorite thing to do is to go to the farmer's market for supper because there are so many different food options to choose from that you don't normally see.

10. Go To Your Old High School Hangout

Growing up in your hometown you probably didn't appreciate everything it was at the time, but now that you've moved away you've learned to appreciate the memories you've made in your hometown. Don't forget to go back to your old stomping grounds and experience some nostalgia. It'll bring back some great memories, and if nothing else it'll make you chuckle about your glory days.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
