Ah, summer. If you live in New England, as soon as the first cold day arrives, if you're like me, you'll be counting down the days until the sun makes its appearance again. Here are 10 things that I believe everyone should keep by their side during the best season of all.

Sunblock

Even if you don't burn and are one of the lucky ones that can catch a nice, even tan by just laying out for one day, sunblock is still important! It protects your skin from harmful UV rays that the sun radiates down on us. You can even pick out what strength protection you want, such as SPF 15 or even SPF 100!

Water

Everyone knows water is important to drink not only in the summer, but throughout the entire year. Keep a nice, cold water bottle by your side when you're at the beach or laying by the pool and make sure to keep yourself hydrated! We don't want anyone to have a heat stroke out here!

Bathing Suit

This one explains itself. No one wants a farmers tan! There are countless types of bathing suits you can buy to make yourself feel confident, including one-pieces, tankinis, and high-waisted bottoms. Strut your stuff!

Speaker

Some people don't like going to the beach because they think it's boring... can't relate. However, if you bring a speaker you can sing along to your favorite songs and have a fun beach party with your family and friends!

P.S. A new drinking game: take a shot every time a Drake song plays.

Footwear

Flip-Flops

Even though walking around barefoot is one of the most fun parts of summer, it's still important to at least bring a pair of flip-flops or slides with you. If you want to go into a store, usually you would need to have something on your feet. Also, the ground can get pretty hot during the summer and you don't want to burn your feet on the concrete.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses aren't just for protecting your eyes from the sun, but they're also a huge fashion accessory. There are millions of different sunglasses you can buy to match your bathing suit or outfit, ranging from $5 heart sunglasses at Target to $200 Ray-Bans.

A Towel

No matter where you're going, bringing a towel or facecloth is always important to lay on, dry yourself off with, or wipe off any sweat. When you're at the beach, lying on the sand can be annoying, so always make sure to bring a blanket or towel. Even if you'll just be out and about for the day, bring a small towel or facecloth to wipe away any unwanted sweat.

Hair Elastics

Notice how I said elastics and not elastic? Always keep more than one hair elastic on you at all times in case one breaks or you lend it to someone! Keeping the hair off your neck will prevent you from becoming too hot and who wants their hair blowing around and getting stuck to their lipgloss?

Snacks

Pretzels

Whether it's a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos or a Luna Bar, you should always keep a little something on you to snack on in case you're hungry. When we go to the beach or pool, sometimes we forget to eat or bring food with us. Keeping something in your bag to pull out is a good idea so you don't feel hungry in the heat.

Friends And Family

Having people to enjoy the summer with is a necessity! Whether it be your parents, friends, or partner, getting out with loved ones is always a blast, from simply going out to lunch to having a huge backyard party. Happy Summer!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
