Now that finals are wrapping up and summer is here, you need to find some things to do when you are not working or taking summer classes. Summer is such a great time of the year, with the grass bright green and the warm sunny days. Here is a list of 10 things you need to do before summer ends and you're hitting the books again.

1. Run or walk a 5K.

Summer is a great time to find a 5K fundraiser and run or walk it with a friend. There are so many different kinds that go to a great cause or are just for the fun of it.

2. Watch the sunset and sunrise.

Grab your special someone or even just a friend and go sit in the bed of a pickup truck away from the city. Maybe grab some snacks and caffeine so you don't fall asleep.

3. Go camping.

Whether it is in a tent or an RV, grab your roasting sticks and bug spray and go explore the great outdoors. And while you are at it, go for a swim in the nearby lake or river.

4. Go to a concert.

Whether it is your favorite band or a friend's favorite band, get your tickets and dance the night away. Grab the artist's autograph while you are at it, too.

5. Go to a local fair.

Gather your friends and some cotton candy and ride some rides. If you're feeling a little silly, maybe even get a "fair do."

6. Go to a museum.

Whether it is the local museum or the museum in the big cities, grab a friend and take silly pictures. If they have a fun scavenger hunt to go along with it, do that as well.

7. Go to a water park.

Get your sunscreen and bathing suit and hit the water slide. While you are there, take a risk and jump off the diving board.

8. Have a picnic at a park.

Pack your picnic basket and go to the park with a friend for lunch. While you are there you can get a little tanning in.

9. Take up a new hobby.

Whether it is rollerblading, skateboarding, paddle boarding or basket weaving, try something new. Maybe you will learn to love it.

10. Get tan.

And while you are busy doing all of these things, make sure that you get a tan. And if you burn at first, aloe vera will be your best friend.

So forget about those finals that you were just stressing about and get out and enjoy summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
