10 Struggles Of Being Vegetarian
Hi Hearts

Anyone who was born a vegetarian or became one later on in life will know that there are some daily struggles we all face. Of course, many of them are things that people have to experience in order to understand, which makes explaining them to non-vegetarians difficult sometimes. Well to make that easier, here are 10 struggles that vegetarians have!

1. When people feel bad for you, as if it's a curse & you're suffering

Sorry, but I don't need your pity. Being a vegetarian is my decision and I'm completely fine with it.

2. "So what do you eat... like fruit, vegetables, and tofu?"

Yes, because it's not like there are hundreds of other foods out there or anything.

3. When you have to order the same foods over and over because all the other options have meat

Pshhhhhh, of course this salad is delicious! *continues to chew and dies internally*

4. Feeling left out when your friends order sushi, chicken, pepperoni pizza, etc.

So you just awkwardly sit there and do nothing while your stomach growls.

5. "So like, you can't wear Uggs, right?"

Yes, and we also can't carry around plastic bags, shampoo/condition our hair, use toothpaste, have tires for our cars, or color with crayons.

6. When the whole entire room starts to smell like meat

I'll be nice and try to not say anything, but as soon as everyone leaves the room, I'll be whipping out my Febreze!

7. Not wanting to travel abroad to certain places because you know there won't be many foods you can eat there

Don't get me wrong--I love all countries! It's just that being a vegetarian would be challenging in places like China, Russia, Japan, etc. where meat is served often.

8. Having to make sure there's no meat in your food every time you order

Because there's bound to be a time when you order a burrito with beans and instead, they give you one with beef. Ugh.

9. "I tried to be a vegetarian once... then I saw a hamburger"

Ok, well obviously you didn't try hard enough... seriously, being a vegetarian is possible if you truly care about not eating animals.

10. Accidentally eating meat & feeling disgusted, guilty, & sick

It's one of the worst feelings and most of us will probably be scarred from that moment forever.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
