Going to college out of state means a couple things: 1. No good food 2. You can't just drive home on the weekends and 3. You aren't close to your home friends.
Here are 10 struggles you can relate to as you leave your friends during Thanksgiving break or how you feel everyday away from your friends at home.
1. You miss them constantly.
Doesn't matter if it is 10 hours or 10 days, you miss them everyday and feel incomplete without them.
2. You can’t hug them everyday.
Sometimes all you need is a hug from your best friend.
3. Time zone differences suck.
My best friend has been living in Paris for the past few months and it is hard to find a time we are both awake to talk.
4. Bad wifi connection (thanks APU).
In order to speak to them I rely on good wifi connection and my university's connection isn't helping the situation.
5. Making time to talk.
Setting aside to talk is actually hard to do when you are constantly busy with this thing called life.
6. Not knowing the day to day life of them.
When you do talk to them, you only get little updates on the major things happening in their life and that sucks sometimes.
7. Getting jealous of the things going on in their life you aren’t there for.
It is so frustrating when your best friend is at Disneyland in Paris and you're getting updates via snapchat when you'd rather just be there with her watching "Star Wars" in French.
8. Time hop memories of you two are the worst (yet so good).
Timehop notifications from years ago when you first met always make me overemotional about our physical separation.
9. The goodbye never gets easier.
You think that it'd get easier, but in reality it hurts so much every time.
10. You have to learn how to live life without them even though its really hard, you’re happy God put them in your life.
Even though long-distance sucks, you are happy to have them in your life.
