If you go to a community college, you know the struggle - early morning rush hour, being late for various reasons, all things we wish we could avoid but here are 10 everyday struggles college commuters bear the weight of due to commuting to college every day:
1. Getting stuck in heavy traffic
This has to be our worst nightmare - close traffic stop-and-go is not what we want before an 8 AM class.
2. Being late because of an accident
Yes, this happens a lot. Yes, my professor has heard this excuse so many times. No, it hasn’t gotten more understandable over the months.
3. Leaving something you really need at home
Forget a book? Laptop? Anything else important? Well, it's too late to go home and get it - you’ll be even later than you already are.
4. Forgetting to fill up your gas tank
This won’t be the first time you forget to, and trust me, it won’t be the last time either.
5. Trying to find parking on campus when you're late
After 9 AM, all parking spaces on campus are occupied so parking on the grass is your best bet when you’re really late.
6. Construction delays
All of a sudden, no one on the road knows how to merge into a lane or do the correct speed limit.
7. When your car decides to crap out
If your car doesn’t start, well it calls for either taking the bus or just staying home - and we pick staying home.
8. Flat tires
No, I don’t want to change a flat tire this early in the morning, nor can I afford to actually carry a spare one.
9. Dealing with road-ragers
Sometimes it's other people giving us the finger or sometimes it's us giving other people the finger - it goes back and forth day by day.
10. Driving in general
Does anyone really want to drive this early? No. Do we even want to drive at all? No. We’d rather be driven - trust me, you can deal with all that’s listed above for once.
