Valentine's day means love, chocolate and romance, but for some people it brings more stress than anything else. We all go through different emotions around this time of the year, some better than others. On the bright side, no matter what, we all have a free pass to indulge in chocolate, candy and more chocolate.
1. Getting excited about the possibility of a Valentine this year
Every time February rolls around there’s a chance for a new Valentine. You never know who could walk into your life between the 1st and the 14th and that thought is what will keep you going.
2. Planning a dream date in your head
The possibility of a Valentine comes with the possibility of a date! Nothing is more fun than scrolling through Pinterest and coming up with the most elaborate date ideas.
3. Heading to a Valentine's-themed party where you hope to meet someone new
Okay, it’s getting close and you still haven’t found anyone. So, you strap on your tight pink dress and go out knowing it may be your last chance to find a date for Vday.
4. Getting a big box in the mail...of Valentine's gifts from your mom
No matter your relationship status, you know your mom will always love you. And that love comes in the form of fuzzy socks, rom-coms and endless chocolate.
5. Trying to find a reservation for dinner whether it’s with a guy or girlfriends
Turns out people actually make plans in advance sometimes. Like booking Valentines dinner a month in early.
6. Realizing everything is booked and heading to the grocery store to prep a night in
It’s okay, you can make a romantic dinner at home. You've just got to find some recipes, buy all the ingredients and remember the last place you saw your pans.
7. Everyone bails on plans and you end up Netflix and chilling solo.
Honestly, you are more comfortable in your own bed anyway. Netflix has always been there for you and never makes other plans.
8. Then you eat the entire box of chocolates from your mom.
Calories don’t count on Valentine's Day. It’s a fact. Plus, mom sent all your favorites.
9. You Instagram a photo with your dog aka “your true Valentine.”
Puppy love is better than any other love. And nobody gets mad at a picture of a puppy kisses!
10. You end the day reminding yourself that it’s a fake holiday and there’s always next year
We can all thank Hallmark for our high expectations and our biggest let-downs. There are now 364 days to find a date for next year!
