A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

Last week, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" finally hit theaters. Already, it has shattered box office records, proving that it was absolutely worth the wait.

As the millions who have already seen it can attest, here are the 10 stages of seeing the new film.

1. Walking Into the Theater


You're back. After 10 years, walking into an auditorium filled with lightsabers and Stormtroopers, you're home.

2. The LucasFilm Logo Appears


THIS IS NOT A DRILL, you're about to see a BRAND NEW "Star Wars" film.

3. The Opening Crawl


HYPERVENTILATING.You are FINALLY going to figure out what this movie is actually about.

4. Meeting all the New Characters


Poe is brave and charismatic. Finn is hilarious and relatable, everything we never knew a Stormtrooper could be, and Rey is bold, loyal, and mysterious.

5. The Reveal of Kylo Ren's Father


Han Solo's son went to the DARK SIDE?!

6. When Han walks out onto the Bridge


He split up from Chewie and now this? You don't want to believe it, but this can only really go one way ...

7. Kylo Stabs his Father


BEN!HOW CAN THIS BE?

8. Han Falls


Our beloved scoundrel. Silent tears roll down your face, and you just need to be held.

9. The Credits Roll


There are just a LOT of feelings to work through, OKAY?

10. Realizing Just How Long You Have to Wait until Episode 8


Can May 26, 2017, be tomorrow, please?

At least, we can be comforted with the knowledge that more is on the way until then...
